Real Madrid Preseason 2013: Part II

12 Aug

FBL-REAL MADRID AND CHELSEA-FRIENDLY

Lawd knows we love trophies and Lawd knows after last season, we more than deserve all of them…ok, most of them 😉 If Cristiano & Iker can lift awards and trophies in the preseason, I sure as hell am going to hold them to it when we get down to business with La Liga, the CdR, and Champions League. Who’s with me?!?!

I’m not sure what was the most entertaining thing in the Everton match, seeing our pretties in the daylight, Cristiano & Ozi’s goals, or the yelling Tim Howard…..hmmm…tough call, I say.

Everton vs Real Madrid: 1-2

Cristiano Goal – 17′

Ozil Goal – 32′

Ozil Man of the Match –

They better not be teasing us with these preseason awards, follow through, gentlemen!

I can’t believe I still need to watch this match, tsk tsk to me. Mou facing his former team, with his current team…which is also his former team…. I’m not a fan of drama, but I do love a good, awkward sitch, when I’m not involved!

Real Madrid vs Chelsea: 3-1

Marcelo Goal – 14′

Cristiano Goal – 31′

A better look at that reaction…

Seriously, he makes the most entertaining faces.

Cristiano Goal – 56′

Pitch Invader –

If Crissy wasn’t feeling the love after his two goals, surely he was after he shared a longggg embrace with a pitch invading fan. What a hold the kid had on him! I love that Cris didn’t pull away or try to push the kid off, he was kind when he didn’t have to be. Unfortunately for the kid, he spent two nights in jail for his little trip down to the pitch. Of course, he says it was all worth it and shared his story via an interview he put out himself. I liked him better before I watched the interview…..you can tell he’s just loving the attention. Seriously, he says they nicknamed him “Celebrity” after just two nights in jail…*sigh* I wonder what my name would be……

2013 International Champions Cup Winners

Cristiano awarded Best Player & Top Goal Scorer (3 goals), Benz tied for 2nd with 2 goals.

Thanks for the recap, Maisougio. The Chelsea game was amazing! If I can share my two cents about the pitch invasions without being too much of a downer, as I do love the exuberance of sports. However, I don’t want these invasions to become a concern when international teams are considering playing in the US and while the incidents last week were all in good spirit, what if someone intended to hurt Cris, Sergio, or any other player?

I complete agree. I was shocked to see how lax the security was. Heck, I’ve been to games at Red Bulls Arena here where pitch invaders were headed off way quicker. None of them ever got anywhere near the players. forzasusan & I saw a guy get violent on the pitch at El Salvador vs. Roma and he was tasered but again, he got NOWHERE near any of the players.

I was thinking the same thing, the security was absolutely terrible. I was actually looking through the Real Madrid tag earlier and one of the security personnels actually posted a bunch of instagram photos of himself chasing after the pitch invaders. It was pretty amusing but I hadn’t realized there had been SO many incidents like that during ICC.

That was half my thought while it was happening. Monica Seles wasnt that long ago and security hasn’t changed at all.

It took them forever to intervene in this case. Very lax security.

I’m so glad our team played against top teams in the pre-season as it really tests their mettle and fitness, not to mention teamwork!

And I noticed that in the team photos Isco’s knees seem to be prime real estate! Well, they are for me, too!

After watching the video of the kid who hugged Cris, the one thing this kid didn’t get is that the stadium wasn’t so much supporting what HE did, but the kindness that Ronaldo exhibited. I thought Cris was a class act…..

He’s really very kind to his fans.

But just imagine, you’re at work sitting in a meeting, and a fan dashes in to hug you. I’d probably freak and call security!

a FAN? AT WORK? HUGS? YAY!!!!!!! 🙂 God knows I could use a little lovin’ …..
