UPDATED: El Pirata’s Presentation!

16 Aug

BRzCZOTCMAIK7OgReal Sociedad wasted no time going after the man they wanted and I heartily approve! The loan was announced yesterday. He had his physical in London, was accompanied on a noon flight to San Sebastian by La Real’s president Jokin Aperribay and visited the facilities upon landing. He was presented at 4:00 PM and had his first training right after. His paperwork with the LFP is all sorted out and he’s eligible to play in tomorrow’s match, which is good because he was called up!

Let’s just look at all these glorious (and full size – screw the galleries – it’s El Pirata!) photos of his presentation.

Can’t wait to put him on my fantasy team! I’m just so happy he’s back in Spain.

BRzF0QdCYAAG0IzThree cheers for our wonderful hipster Pirate. If he can’t be with us, I think he’s going to be very happy in Donostia. Since there’s an option to buy at the end of the season, who knows? This may turn into a permanent thang.

UPDATED: Whoops! Forgot to add this picture from training. Looking good, hipster, looking good.

It’s still hard to see him in another jersey than just white. But we’ve to accept that he’s gone and I really hope that he finally found a club where he can be truly happy and valued. If la Real is that team, why not? Of course it’ll be bitter to see him playing in the Santiago Bernabéu against us, but I’m willed to take some tequila shots to kill that pain to be honest. El Pirata is back in La Liga and there’s no way one can’t be happy about that. Look at Esteban. He’s shining.
I could go on forever, he’s still my boy sigh

By the way, what happens to J. Cesar?

Didn’t J. Cesar go to Monaco? I thought he was one of them… I might be wrong.

Like most of our cantera, Pirata has been gone before. He only came back in 2009. Callejon was Espanyol… He came back and left again. It is our way.

i heard a couple of days ago he didn’t want to go, but i wasn’t reading closely. it makes more sense for him to take a fat payday at monaco and go quietly into that good night. he’s what, 33? 34?

    I’ve seen in twitter:

i really wasn’t expecting to see such a sweet, welcoming response from his former RM teammates. marcelo, xabi, arbie. (others i’ve forgotten/haven’t seen) are so happy he’s back. that is just so darn cute.

I’m hoping he can visit Madrid and they can all have lunch and show off their latest tattered jeans!

There aren’t words to express my delight!

I’m just a little bummed that I technically should still be in Donostia and would totally have been at his presentación had I not needed to bump my flight up due to a family emergency.

But his little rueda prensa… I just love how honest and genuine he comes across.
