Well, people, the football gods giveth, and the football gods taketh away. We’re getting Raul back for 45 minutes tomorrow, but we’ve lost Xabi for 3 months. Yep, you heard that right. He was expected to play tomorrow in the XXXV Santiago Bernabeu Trophy match against Al-Sadd until he fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot today in training. I was shouting “WHYYYYYYYYY!” to the heavens when I woke up to the news this morning. Ugh.
Raul visited training today to catch up with some of his old teammates and have a chat with Carlo.
He also did a presser but I’ll post more on that later (once the full translation comes through.
Between all the injuries and the drama that has already started, I hope we’re not in for another clusterfuck of a season. We just have to take a chill pill and keep our eyes on the prize and I mean that especially for the fans. Some of the crap that I have seen on Twitter, blogs, etc. has turned my stomach. Real Madrid is the equivalent of a pressure cooker at the best of times, it must feel like it’s going to explode these day. The massive overreaction of fans at every turn can’t be helping. We’ve had one Liga game. Let’s see how things go, eh?

apparently, Varane re-injured his meniscus, so his recovery is going to be delayed another month. Gah!
Yep. It’s all true.
This is bad news but I guess it means those transfer rumours of Modric to United will be quashed.
In positive news illarra is back next week.
i’m trying to focus on the positive, not xabi’s injury. today, i am going to focus on the glorious-ness that is raul and his physically impossibly perfect profile and the possibility of him coming to work at RM when he’s done with al saad.
Such crappy news with Xabi’s injury 😦 Animo!
Oh, ouch, Xabi! One of my runner friends has a stress fracture in that bone and it’s miserable.
On a more cheerful note, it’s nice to see illarra training with the group and looking happy. And Raul, yay. It’s just always nice to see him.
Dagnabit! Guess Xabi won’t be posting his foot shots soon. **sigh** Animo, Xabi!
Seeing them in training holding their sticks makes me think their going to break out in high kicks and singing, “One singular sensation, every little step she makes…”
