Quick Bits & Bobs: Animo Pipita, Proud “Papa” Sergio & A Dani-view

26 Aug

foto_2_Contenuti_Album_721_350_486_3_1_62_1_72_4I’ve been in meetings all morning, but I’m finally out and can do a quick update. Poor Pipita was on a day trip to Capri, fell on the rocks and had to get 10 stitches in his face. OUCH. (Sounds like my trip to Bonaire). Poor bebe. And of course, the press was all over it. Pix via Punta Pelota.

Poor woobins. While they ruled out any fracture, it’s debatable as to whether or not he will play the next match on Saturday.

Sergio posted a shot on his Twitter with all the young’uns looking for all the world like a proud papa. Alvaro, Jose, Dani, Isco, Jese & Nacho: If you must learn from him, make sure it’s not his fashion sense, okay? For that way, young grasshoppers, lies madness. #savethemuppetbabies

BSlwDLvIEAE-Q4tDani Carvajal, in the meantime, got his chance to do a thumbs uppy interview with BWIN which was excerpted on the mothership.

Carvajal: “Granada has a great team and they’re doing things really well”

“My debut against the Betis was something that I will never forget; my goal is to give my best for the team” said the Real Madrid reserve player

Real Madrid will play today against the Granada to try to get its second victory in the two matches of the National Championship and Dani Carvajal analysed the match for the Bwin Web site. “I don’t think we are the favourite team. We are going to a very difficult field against a great rival who has a team that is doing things really well. The key is to stay together and to be a strong team. We will try to go at them with a lot of intensity and to show our game from minute one”, stated the Real Madrid reserve player.

The team debuted on the League with a victory against the Betis in what was also Carvajal’s debut after his return wearing the jersey of his home town team. “For me this is something very special because I have belonged at the Real Madrid for ten years. I had to go out to be able to wear the Real Madrid jersey and my debut was on an official competition against the Betis. For me that was something that I am never going to forget”, he admitted.

Ancelotti leads this new project for the Real Madrid in 2013/2014 that has just begun and the Real Madrid defender had some words of praise for the Italian coach: “I think he is a great coach, this is shown in all the titles he has won as coach and as a player. He provides a very good atmosphere for us in the locker room, he is very close to the players. I think that we can be a great Real Madrid under Carlo”.

Dani_CarvajalCarvajal also spoke of another one of his new facets with the team for this season because he got together with them the European Under-21 this summer: Isco “It’s had to describe him in just three words but I would use happiness, quality and cleverness”. As for his role in the Real Madrid and what he wants to achieve this season he said: “My main goal is to give the most that I can for the team, try to get as much play time as possible because I think that is something that any player should improve on”.

The Real Madrid reserve player competed last year on the Bundesleague and, asked about the differences with the League he said: “They are two great leagues with great teams as seen on the last European competitions. Maybe the difference is in the speed of the game, here in Spain it is at a lower pace, with more quality at the midfield and towards the front. There perhaps there a quicker play with more transition”. When asked about his German knowledge and whether he practices it with Özil and Khedira he said: “I try, and they do try to talk to me a little in German, but we always try to speak in Spanish since they have been here longer. Since we are in Spain we speak Spanish”. To finish, he said: “I like all kinds of sports but it is true that maybe tennis is very attractive for me”.

So there you have it – just a few things pre-match. I moved to a new office today and the first thing I did was hang up my Real Madrid banner. Gotta represent, especially on match day.

HALA MADRID!

– Lozil

When I saw him in person, he seemed to be slighter taller than me and I’m 5’8. I would say no taller than 5’10.

Sergio is listed as 6’1″ meaning he’s probably about 5’11” or 6’0″. My best friend is 5’10” and just standing next to him, I could tell Sergio is taller

    BTW

Freak out much with Sergio “Papa” headline…I was like what? With Pilar!

    But then I calmed down.

I had the same heart stopping response…..oh Lozil, you tease (and thank God on this count!)

Oh Pipita! Hopefully it’s not too painful, stitches are not fun.

Sergio is so cute with the kiddos. I remember when they interviewed La Rojita over the summer and asked who their favorite player from La Seleccion was and a lot of them said Sergio. I love to see our bbs looking up to him.

Ohhhh, Pipita looks miserable. Poor guy!

The Ramos as the role model, though… I love it.

Lozil, you almost gave me a heart attack with that ‘Papa’ Sergio! Don’t ever do that again without a warning! Whew!!
