Aw, it’s adorable to see our canteranos bonding. Aldani? Moratavajal? (The latter is a mouthful…)
The team trained again today along with Sami and Tomas Meijas. The Baby, Sergio, Jesús, Lady Edith and Denis stayed inside while Xabi continued his recovery.
Mesut is the new face of Adidas. He did a signing/presentation at the Bernabeu Adidas store and later posed for some pictures testing his new boots on the pitch. He also gave an interview quashing those rumors that he is on his way out of Madrid.
The last two shots have a fabulous “Where the hell am I?!” quality to them, don’t they?

Özil: “The coach has confidence in me and I want to be successful here”
by Edu Bueno
“When you play for such an important team you have to win titles and we will do everything possible to get them”, said the Real Madrid player at his unveiling as the new face of Adidas
Mesut Özil was unveiled as the new face of the Adidas brand in a ceremony that took place this afternoon at the Bernabeu Store at which the German spoke about what is happening at Real Madrid. The midfielder was pleased with the start of the season: “When you play for such an important club you have to win titles and we will do everything possible to get them”. The Whites’ player also made his intentions for the future clear: “I want be successful at Real Madrid. The coach has confidence in me and I feel very good”.
The Whites’ number 10 spoke about his team’s good start to the season: “We are very happy because we have won both matches and got six points. We have to play better, but there is a lot of room for improvement”. The German also spoke about the team’s aims this season: “When you play for a team as important as Real Madrid, you have to win titles and we will do everything possible. We will work hard. We are a club that has special players and I am convinced that we will win titles this year. We have our aims and each of us has a role and we will try to win all of the titles on offer. That’s one of the big reasons for me being here”.
As for his personal situation, Özil brushed aside rumours about his possible departure: “I want to be successful. A lot has been written in the media about other teams, but I have a contract with Real Madrid and I am staying here. I have the coach’s confidence and I feel very good. Also, I have a contract until 2016. I have a very good understanding with all my teammates and it is a pleasure and an honour to play for Real Madrid”.
He also highlighted what a privilege it is to have help from a legend like Zidane day in, day out: “He was my idol and is part of the coaching staff that trains us. When I saw him for the first time I was very nervous. He is an extraordinary person that helps a lot. We’re very happy to have him”.
It’s really all a girl can ask for, you know? Thanks, Mesut. I certainly appreciate the effort.
Check out the adorable “welcome to the family” video that Adidas made for him!
Here’s a shot of Sergio arriving for work. I love that they have valet parking at the training grounds.
He tweeted a shot saying that they had been shooting a new commercial. I wonder if it’s Nivea for Men (who probably told him to sort that hair out before filming) and they’ve just replaced Pipita?

I wished El Pirata and La Real good luck a day early because I screwed up my dates. The match is today. I’m rooting for you guys! The club posted this shot of their kits at the ready.
Aupa Erreala! I want to see some Champions League Pirate action!
Updated: Here’s a little Pirata hanging out pre-match.
And in other Champions League playoff news, Kazakhstan side FC Shakhter Karagandy has been warned by UEFA that they must stop sacrificing sheep before matches or face disciplinary action. I shit you not.
STEP AWAY FROM THE SHEEP AND RAISE YOUR HANDS!
UPDATED: Since I made this post, I’ve read that they give the meat to the poor afterward so it’s not wasted.

Hahahahaaa… OMG. You’re JOKIN about the sheep right?!!?????
No, click the article link.
it’s a thing they do! anyway i think they eat it afterward so it’s really not that big a deal.
OMG that’s horrifying about the sheep!
Mesut’s comments were a real relief to read. I know players don’t always make 100% honest statements about their intentions to stay with a club, but I trust little Avatar Eyes™. Hopefully whatever the post-Bale shakeup looks like won’t affect him badly and he’ll stay happy here with us!
poor sheep. I read it before and it is sooooo barbaric!!!!
it’s better that they only showed isco’s back so i don’t have to face the cruel fact that he shaved for the nivea commercial. ISCOOOOOOOOOOO.
if they would eat the sheep or give it to a less fortunate family afterward I wouldn’t feel so bad, also think they should of kept it to doing it in their country…..
Since I made this post, I’ve read that they give the meat to the poor so it’s not wasted.
well that’s good because that would of be a waste of a good sheep I can just imagine my dad being pissed if someone tossed a perfectly good sheep
They should have roasted the sheep and invited the other team for a barbecue after the match!
Although it probably shouldn’t have, the Pipita photo cracked me up.
So… when I first read the title of this post, I was anticipating that I’d read about Sergio adopting a flock of sheep or something…
ditto
When I first read the title, I had something totally different in mind about the sheep. Yeah, my brain went there. I think I’ve been hanging with the wrong people (with the worst jokes) for far too long.
Shepherd Sese: Come my minions! Tonight we shave your hair to create wigs for my Sergio Ramos mannequin heads! I will never make a hairstyle mistake again!
Sese’s sheep: Lord, not this again…
Hmmm, Sergio wigs… Maybe he can shear a few inches off his pet horses’ manes and bring back the long locks.
