La Roja Ready for Finland

5 Sep

Soldado’s got a hold of Iker and someone’s got a hold of their wedgie…we see you unidentified male in the upper right corner! La Roja finished up their preparations for tomorrow’s WC Qualifier against Finland….can we get a big win, boys??

Before we get to the day’s training pics (there weren’t that many, BOO!), there are a few leftovers from yesterday. They’re mainly arrival vids but….Javi Garcia. I will use any excuse just to look at him a little bit lot more! *Sigh* He’s a beautiful piece of man.

Seriously, he’s like the freaking love child of Sergio Ramos & David Beckham!!! YUM.

Watching them store their luggage is like watching majestic animals in the wild….where does the time go?

So this is why Pony loves his face cream! He needs it to fight the wrinkles caused by all the sexay winking he does.

Isco returned to training today, but left early as a precaution & had some more tests done on his ankle. Everyone else Hi Javi!

Some media peeps came to see the boys train, snap a photo here, snap a photo there…the best part was when one woman was unhappy with the way Iker signed her shirt.

Translation via concretar

A fan is disappointed when instead of putting Casillas, Iker writes “Iker” when he signs for her. He then adds Casillas to his signature.

Fan: How would I know that this is Iker (his signature)?

Iker Casillas: Because it’s signed. (I LOVE HIS RESPONSE!)

Fan: How disappointing, I thought you were going to put Casillas.

Iker Casillas: I put Casillas there……Do you want me to put Casillas?

Fan: Of course!

Today, it was Vicente “I am the walrus” del Bosque, Xavi, & Albiol got to chattin’ with the press.

Goalkeeper – “We already decided who will be the goalkeeper in the game, but we will tell them first.”

Finland – “We expect a game similar to Gijon, we have to be patient, but also have the energy to compete with a team that is going to make it very difficult.”

Defense – “I think they will pose a very defensive game, they also have chances of qualifying and I think they too will be after the game.”

Nacho – “It would be foolhardy to say that there are no other alternatives. It’s true that there are many foreigners in Spain in that position, but we have chosen him because he is very versatile, he can play side and center, he is young, aggressive, pretty sure with the ball, and that’s why we decided on him. ”

Classifying – “I think we have to win all three games we have left. Rivals always present difficulties, Finland had difficulties with Georgia … These are games we have to consider difficult because today, any match that you organize poses problems. ”

Goalkeeper – “All three are training hard and then it’s the coach who decides, but in any case the goal is safeguarded.”

Cesc – “He’s a different midfielder to what we see in the club, always fits has a lot more presence and comes very well.”

The match – “We’ll try having chances from set pieces, and we have to keep the ball and be more effective in front of goal than we were in Gijon. The important thing is to open the field wide, that will be key to tomorrow’s game. Last time we had a hard time, we will try to do better but it is clearly going to be very difficult.”

Valdes – “He’s an example on the field and off. He has waited his chance to come to the team and I do not know if he’ll play tomorrow, but he’s sure to react well.”

Absences in the Midfield – “There are absences that are important, but Spain has many options to choose from, although there are people who lack the level it’s not noticed, there are very good substitutes and we think we’re here to win, to Finland and even the Chile friendly.”

The match – “It is very important, we’ve had it in mind since the friendly in August. We know that alone are worth the three points because surely France will win, and we know that we will go to control the game, it’s a crucial game for us.”

Madrid 2020 – “Of course we are with the bid, it would be very good news for everyone that finally gave the Games to Madrid. We all support the nomination.”

And here are today’s social media catches.

Cesc shared a pic with Capi Iker, he appears to be returning to his “long hair don’t care” phase…please don’t! He then got a bit nostalgic and posted a shot of him 10 years ago in Finland. Sixteen years old and taking 2nd place at the U-17 WC.

Finally, a shot from San Iker. So purty.

Cesc looks almost unrecognizable in that picture (the new one). What the hell is happening to him?!

his hair is SUCH a situation, he really has to keep it quite short and keep his beard tamed, otherwise he gets very wolfman, very quickly.

When Sergio gets smile crinkles around his eyes it’s quite sexy. He might be able to pull off a few wrinkles, which is just as well since all that time out in the sun will eventually start to show.

Here’s hoping tomorrow’s match goes as well as La Rojita’s did today! All 6 goals from Madrid players – good day for club and country 🙂 I certainly hope that gets repeated against Finland.

So does that mean that Cesc is no longer “suffering?”

    • Mehreh September 6, 2013 at 1:50 pm #

xavi is the world’s leading expert on cesc, so he’d know.

I am sorry but I cannot get over the fact that some fan was bitching about the autograph?!!
And who is the genius photographer who snapped isco next to the very nice piece of meat???

    • headbandsandheartbreak September 6, 2013 at 11:22 pm #

Yeah, how rude was that? I’m glad someone else cracked up seeing Isco next to the piece of meat – I burst out laughing when I saw that shot.

Yeah, I was wondering if that black line pointing at the meat was meant for Isco….Fresh Meat! LOL!
