Sorry I’ve been so absent this weekend. I’m very close to a big project launch at the office (in the next 2 weeks) so I’ve spent the bulk of the past two days working. But for the NYC peeps, I just wanted to let you that there is going to be a great reading in Manhattan on Tuesday night including one of my fave writers/people.
Soccerpalooza: Writers on the Beautiful Game
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19 AT 7:00PM
Housing Works Cafe/Bookstore
126 Crosby Street New York, NY 10012
With only months left before the start of World Cup 2014 three writers take on obsessive fandom, soccer frenzy, and the art and dolor of the beautiful game. With readings from Jonathan Wilson (Kick and Run), Rosie Schaap (Drinking with Men), and Peter Zilahy (The Last Window Giraffe).
If work doesn’t keep me from it (a very real possibility), I will be going to this. Rosie Schaap is a brilliant writer and a witty, whip smart woman. Her debut memoir, Drinking with Men is one of the best reads in recent memory. She’s a devoted Spurs fan and is an all around great human being. She’s also absolutely hilarious when reading her work. You won’t be disappointed. I have not read the other two books but I’m pretty confident that if they’re sharing a bill with Rosie, they’ll be awesome. (You can RSVP via the Soccerpalooza link above)
