Dressed Up, Dressed Down

404-773-_1AM3457Thumb,22For every person looking smart and sharp in their official suit, someone always has to ruin it. And I’m looking at you, Karim Benzema.

152-337-_1AM3435,9That knit cap is not doing you any favors.  You’re Thug Life from the neck up and corporate middle manager from the neck down. I realize that it is cold and you are bald, but look at Zizou. He’s bald and he’s toughing it out because the man knows the value of a good fashion statement.  Or he’s just so hot that he’s his own self heater, no knitwear needed.  I’m guessing it’s both.1007-171-_1AM3441Thumb,22No one else is wearing a ski cap. Look how nice they look. Not like bank robbers at all! (I sound like a scolding mama, I realize this. “KARIM, WHY CAN’T YOU BE LIKE YOUR NICE FRIEND EDITH? SHE ALWAYS LOOKS APPROPRIATE, IF A BIT UNFORTUNATELY MANNISH.”)184-811-_1AM3446,9Iker even left his murse home! That thing is his security blanket! (I love that Iker has a plain old suitcase while Casanova is rocking the Vuitton).905-820-_1AM3490Thumb,8The team had a 3 hour flight to Copenhagen and emerged looking fresh and dandy. I think in terms of style, the rule of thumb should  always be “WWXD?” And the answer to that is wear the vest and a pocket square. Casanova is getting that partially. He is young, he will learn at the feet of the Master.526-167-_1AM7576Thumb,8

Traveling with our boys was the Juvenil A team who are competing in the UEFA Youth League. They’re undefeated in their group and already advancing so this is a formality. They don’t have to wear suits. Karim probably wishes he could sit with them.

Several hundred fans greeted the team before they made their way to the Copenhagen Marriott.

Much more to post about the team’s day including training and pressers, but I have to race off now. I’ll be back a bit later!

Those suits are very important to me.

Xabi Alonso, rocking a three piece suit… Of course, he is. GQMF

Xabi and his vest are top, but how good does Morata look in that photo, too? Boy cleans up very nicely.

He’s so grown up and handsome. That feels condescending to say but I still remember when he was a terrified Bambi who didn’t understand that people wanted his autograph. He’s come so far!

I love how you rip on Karim! I sure hope he reads this blog. And calling Modric “Lady Edith” just slays me – so appropriate and hysterically funny. Thanks.

    Help!

There’s a picture up there with the boys getting off the plane and it’s Pepe, some dude, Cris, and Casemiro. Who’s “some dude”?? Because, hot damn, he looks yum. (He also looks familiar so I fear I’m having a brain fart of epic proportions)

It’s Llorente from Castilla. I had the same reaction – I did a little double take and was like “Hey, who are you? Come to mama!” He’s looking really fine in that suit.

Oooh, thank you! That was going to bother me all night otherwise. I’d seen him before obviously, but he is a revelation in that suit!

It’s good to know the Llorente name will continue its tradition of being associated with such abject hotness 😛
