Iker canceled an appearance in Qatar this week for a goalkeeping clinic on the advice of doctors. Looks like the birth of San Baby is imminent. He did appear via Skype though to answer questions. Since the team will be heading off to Qatar for the friendly against PSG on January 2nd, I guess that puts Iker’s participation up in the air unless, of course, the baby makes his arrival before that time. C’mon San Baby! We can’t wait to see you!
18 of the boys got right back to work as they prepared for facing Zlatan and the PSG crew. Marcelo & Angel were absent with club permission. Fabio & Sami continued their recovery.
Tomorrow is the Champions for Life charity match at the Santiago Bernabeu. The proceeds will benefit those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. Players from both the Primera & Segunda will participate. Representing Real Madrid will be first teamers Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Morata and Jesús Fernández along with Omar Mascarell of Castilla.
Many of you have taken the Santiago Bernabeu tour in Madrid and I’m looking forward to doing this in March. Here’s a little video taster of the experience. I can’t wait!
And now, it’s time for me to eat some chicken soup and get back to bed. Everyone I know is sick right now! There’s at least 3 other watishistas that I know of so I hope we all feel better soon.

On behalf of the Philippine victims of Typhoon Haiyan, thank you to Real Madrid for the donations resulting from the Champions for Life match. Sorry I missed the match, but I hope Sergio and company will visit the Philippines to make the donation personally!
