Off To Doha!

Some things never change.

Some things never change.

They say “Start as you mean to go on” so I guess we have another year of Karim Benzema: Forever Alone to look forward to. Actually, I’m sure if The Baby was called up, they would have been sitting together. Varane isn’t the only one not making the trip to Qatar, however. Sami & Fabio are still in recovery and Gareth is being rested. Iker stayed home to await San Baby (He’s waited how long? He’s not going anywhere till he has that kid in his arms and probably not very far after. I can totally imagine him giving everything up and becoming a house husband once he finally gets his woobins).

The following 23 players made the trip to face the beast that is Zlatan:

Goalkeepers: Tomás Mejías, Diego López & Jesús Fernández.
Defenders: Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa, Nacho, Casado & Llorente.
Midfielders: Xabi Alonso, Casemiro, Modric, Di María, Isco, Illarra, José Rodríguez & Jaime.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Jesé & Morata.

Gratuitous Zlatan shot.

Gratuitous Zlatan ab shot.

A bromantic reunion that makes me VERY happy.

Busy ordering more dinosaur shirts.

Busy ordering more dinosaur shirts.

So let’s talk a minute about the dinosaur shirt, shall we? MGEF tracked down the source and I was surprised to find that he only paid $180 for that. Knowing him, I thought he’d pay even more for the privilege of looking like he was a refugee from a 5 year old’s toy box. I mean, the man embodies the adage “more money than sense” Speaking of adages, ‘forewarned is forearmed‘ so I decided to check out the rest of the Gitman Vintage site. Remember the shirt he wore on El Hormiguero? We thought it was terrier heads but it turns out that they are snow leopards and it’s also from Gitman. Looking over new arrivals, I’m betting that he got the quilted Black Watch plaid one for Iker for Christmas. There’s a whole section of animal prints so that he can match Pilar, so maybe that’s what he’ll buy next? My money is on the mushrooms (or will he buy that one for Xavi?) or the Tyrolean men. Oh Sese, never change.

Really looking forward to the match tomorrow. It should be good fun. Zlatan and Cris always put on a good show.

I love that someone was so intrigued that they tracked down the dinosaur shirt. I’ve been shaking my head over that all morning.

The Tyrolean men shirt is perfect for Pep Guardiola to wear under one of his tight sweaters. 😀

As I am living in Tyrol I can say – the “Tyrolean Man” style isn’t really common here 😉

North Tyrol – You’re italian, right? So they have to be South Tyroleans, or?

South Tyrol. My grandpa is from Avio, Trentino-Alto Adige.

Ah, that’s not far from the Garda Lake. Very nice there.
