While San Baby going home is delightful, the news we’ve really been waiting to hear happened today: Xabi has signed a contract extension until 2016. Praise the deities that look favorably down on classy, crafty midfielders and the fans that love them. Xabi will give a press conference on Friday.
Are you as relieved as I am? I feel like I can now safely purchase an Alonso jersey to replace the Ozil one I bought in pre-season. We all know how that went.

I’m so relieved!! If he left, the only jersey left in my closet that would still be relevant is my Ronaldo jersey! And I have 7 jerseys! Yes, I know you have more. But that 6 out of 7 wouldn’t play at Madrid anymore…
I think after this extension is up, we’ll probably see Xabi retire, honestly.

Am so glad that Xabi chose to renew his contract. This team would look downright shabby without Xabi. Now if only they can quit with the rumors of acquiring Luis Suarez (who has also renewed). Him, I don’t want.
