*Can you feel the loveeee tonight?* G-MONEY CAN.

Hell, I feel the love too and I hope our boys keep kicking ass so I can KEEP feeling it! I knew we had the goals in us, but I wasn’t exactly expecting a clean sheet, so that was a very pleasant surprise. Our San Iker led defense rocked it out, prevented Dortmund from getting any precious away goals, and this first leg clean sheet is going to help us greatly when we travel next week. We are making our way and shit is getting exciting!

Do we have another pre-game bromantic ritual now, Iker? It’s not just amaysing besos from Sergio that he needs, it’s sweet nuzzles from Isco!

This is the kind of attack we like to see, the kind that charges straight out the gate! G-Money, with the assist from Carvajal, wasted no time in scoring the opener – it took him just three minutes. His 3rd minute goal was also a Real Madrid CL record breaker, it became the fastest scored goal (since 2000) in a knockout phase. G-Money may have broken another record, at least on my timeline, and that would be for causing a record amount of people to tweet the word ILLUMINATI. Why did his goal bring out the cray? Well, both him and Lavezzi (for PSG) scored at exactly the same time. *GASP* Match fixing!

The adorable captain nuzzler got in on the action in the 27th minute. Isco’s goal may have been a social media record breaker as well, since he scored at the same exact time Eden Hazard did for Chelsea…. *DOUBLE GASP*

The rain started coming down at the start of the 2nd half and as we saw against Rayo, the rain does something for us. The boys look fabulous when wet and when it pours, we score. Cristiano who was celebrating his 100th Champions League match, got the opportunity to mark the milestone with a goal in the 57th minute.

Three solid goals and we were good for the night, that wasn’t necessarily the case for Dortmund, they kept trying for a goal and almost had one in the 59th minute if it weren’t for a close save from Pepe.

Pepe also had the task of playing peacemaker, shortly after, when Sergio and Jonas Hoffmann got into a little thang. Who woulda thought a hug from Pepe would diffuse such a tense stare off…

REAL MADRID 13/14 BORUSSIA DORTMUND

Ancelotti started making changes in the last 15 minutes, Illarra coming on for Isco, Morata coming on for Benz, and finally, Casemiro coming on to relieve Cris.

Ancelotti:

Ancelotti made no attempt to hide his satisfaction at his team’s performance against Borussia Dortmund. The Whites’ coach analysed the 3-0 victory in the Santiago Bernabéu: “I’m happy with the result, the match and the team’s attitude. It wasn’t an easy match, we started it well, in the second half we reduced the tempo a little. Dortmund had a good attitude, above all on the counter. It is a very dangerous team. The second leg won’t be easy”.

“We did what we practised well. We pressured up front and played with intensity. We had possession of the ball and were clinical. I’m happy. In the first half we played with great intensity and energy and in the second we sat back a bit to play a little more on the counter. The atmosphere was very good”.

The second leg
“Borussia proved that they are a quality team and that they will try to turn the result around. They will try everything to come back. We have to be alert and play like we did in this match. If we play like today we’ll reach the semi-finals. Touch all the wood in the world, I don’t like talking about the semis yet. They are setting a trap for the second leg and we have to be prudent and avoid it”.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s niggle
“It’s a slight knee problem and I’m not worried about it. If the niggle, which at the moment is not a worry, continues we can rest him, but the player is relaxed. I took him off 10 minutes before the end and there is no reason to worry.

“The response has been good after the two defeats, although it is clear that we haven’t completely forgotten about it because we have paid dearly for it. We’re no longer at the top of La Liga but we have time. If we win all our matches, as I’ve said, we’ll win the Champions League and the Copa del Rey, at least”.

Isco
“He had a great match, he defended and won balls. He also demonstrated his attacking ability with a goal. He had a fantastic game, really helping his team and demonstrating that he has that passion”.

Pepe
“He did a great job, as he has all season, with confidence and personality. It wasn’t an easy match for them at the back and he did very well. There were big spaces to cover and they did great. Iker also made a great save”.

Pepe:

“Hearing the ovation from the crowd fills me with joy. It’s the fruits of my labour.  I’m happy and content and want to keep this form going. These things happen in football.  I just want to help my team and keep moving forward.  In my opinion, I’m spectacular.

“Barça didn’t acknowledge Busquets stomping on me and have shown their true colours. They talk about values and then don’t live up to them.  We’re not stupid here, the  images are there. They have their way of doing things and to me, it’s not right. The images are right there. Of course he stepped on my head, if I did the same, I’d no longer be at Real Madrid.  They create their film, their history and I’m the bad guy.”

  Isco:

Isco scored the second goal of the match against Borussia Dortmund and he spoke to the press after the final whistle: “It’s a magnificent result. We’re happy with 3-0, with keeping a clean sheet and taking a step towards the semi-finals. Pepe and the whole defence were a ten out of ten. The result is more than deserved and we take a significant lead into the second leg”.

“I’d like to thank the Santiago Bernabéu for the ovation and the support they gave us during the match. I was a little surprised to play, Di María came down with something, but you have to be prepared and that’s what happened. I have to show people and the coach that I can play in any system and position and I’m happy”.

The second leg
“You never know in football. Nobody imagined the Real Madrid result there last year. We’re going to play like we always do and we hope to be in the semi-finals. Seedorf was a great player of course, but I’m just Isco”.

“I’d like to thank the Bernabéu for the ovation and the support they gave us during the match. I was a little surprised to play, Di María came down with something, but you have to be prepared and that’s what happened. I have to show people and the coach that I can play in any system and position and I’m happy (…) It’s a magnificent result. We’re happy with 3-0, with keeping a clean sheet and taking a step towards the semi-finals. Pepe and the whole defence were a ten out of ten. The result is more than deserved and we take a significant lead into the second leg.”

Carvajal:

“We can’t go to Dortmund’s stadium with the intention of maintaining the lead, we must go there with the intention of winning, as we always do.  Dortmund will press high and we’ll need to make quick transitions as they come. An away goal changes these ties. We made a conscious effort to not concede a goal, knowing that the ones up top would make it easier.”
