Someone has gone clean shaven for the trip to Vigo, I see. I’ll take my Xabi in any way, shape or form, so works for me.
But what of Arbeloa who was on a mission to not shave or cut his hair until he played again? Well, he’s playing today as per Ancelotti, so has that affected his look at all? Let’s see… Here he is greeting Falcao at the Madrid Open the other day.
A bit shaggy and overgrown still. But here he is arriving in Vigo earlier today. I see trimming has happened! Both hair and beard from the looks of it. So progress for all those who prefer the Sex Beard to the Leonidas Look.
Our fine gentlemen flew to Galicia where they were greeted by over 200 fans.
They hurried off to the Pazo de los Escudos hotel where Sami & Jesús signed autographs for the lucky fans.

The following players traveled to Vigo for the match:
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Diego López and Jesús.
Defenders: Ramos, Arbeloa, Coentrão, Marcelo and Nacho.
Midfielders: Bale, Xabi Alonso, Modric, Casemiro, Khedira, Isco, Illarra and Burgui.
Forwards: Morata, Willian José and Raúl de Tomás.
As you can see, lots of names missing – especially among the forwards. But where is Benzema, you may ask? Well, turns out he’s been having knee pain since the Bayern game (which certainly explains a few things about his recent performance). The doctors are keeping an eye on him and he may be saved for the Champions League final. Pepe could be back for the final as well. (I cannot even bear to talk about Pepe’s hair in that photo. It’s just so…traumatizing).
And on this day in 1966, we won La Sexta! Let’s hope that we can bring home La Decima this year despite all these injuries. HALA MADRID!
I saw Xabi and thought it: http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/brilliant-xabi-alonso-shaves-and-turns-into-real-madrid-teammate-asier-illaramendi-graphic/
I dread the dreads on Pepe’s head.
