The day of the launch is upon us and pink it is (we’ve known this since mid-December but now it’s official). I like the dark lipstick pink of the kit. I thought it was going to be more in the range of Pepto-absymal. Shigs has given the color a thumbs up, so in my book, that’s all it needs for legitimacy.
I *love* the new keeper kit. That blue is absolutely gorgeous. I am shaking my head that they went for pink and blue though. Sigh.
Anyhow, we’ve been getting teasers since last week. I posted the first three but here are the additional ones featuring Karim & Marcelo.

And of course, being Real Madrid, we had to have the most insane, lavish, over the top kit launch ever. It was freaking fantastic. I’m guessing that it was done this way because most of the players are off at the World Cup. This is the plan for the main presentation. This was projected onto the Santiago Bernabeu, people.
More like “Fear our purse strings”, am I right? That must have cost bank, but hey, we’re the European Champions (not tired of saying that yet. AT ALL.)

You gotta hand it to the Peez, he doesn’t do things half assed. And the overall launch/campaign on this has been pretty epic. So will you be rocking the pink this coming season?

I love Iker’s blue home kit and I love the pink away kits. But the orange GK away kit is not going to look good next to the pink.

Oh my god. Lollol I can hear the jokes coming our way. But our boys can rock it. Also iker finally got an absolutely gorgeous kit! And I couldn’t help but snicker at the buttons, you just know some of the boys will have fun opening em up for fashunnn.
Considering how excited Fanboy is to rock the pink… I’m in! Though I might have to change my hair color. I don’t think the red will go well.
As for Peez, I’m sure he signed off on the presentation (as he and the board would have to) but I assure you it wasn’t his idea. The marketing team of both Adidas and the club probably came up with it collectively.
P.S. I didn’t mean for that to sound reprimanding about FloP. I just think he gets a lot of stick for things he doesn’t actually have all the control over. Call me protective 😉
Oh, I wasn’t implying that he dreamed it up, but he does sign the checks – I just meant that he (as in the collective powers that be at Real Madrid) went all out on it.

At first I wasn’t sure about the pink but I kinda like it and I know our boys can rock it no problem, so….ummm yeah count me in I like it.

It’s really magenta — but it’s a color I do love! We have seen in on Lyon (yes, on Gourcuff!). That was a fabulous visual presentation! Kudos to the graphic artists that dreamed it up!
I was all set to get the pink jersey because I live in pink (yes, I’m that girl), but the keeper’s jersey is fantastic, too! That blue!!! Decisions, decisions…
