Perhaps That Wasn’t The Smartest Idea, Mesut

12 Jul

1405115388727_Image_galleryImage_image001_pngSigh. When Mesut gets back to London, he’s got some drama to deal with. Back in February, photographer Lee Essex called 999 saying that Mesut assaulted him by driving his Porsche up on the sidewalk and clipping him with the side mirror, which Ozil disputes. (Yes, the photog was lurking outside Mesut’s house to ambush him). Anyhow, Essex called 999 and the police came and questioned Mesut. Sounds straightforward, right?

Not so much. The very next day (February 22), the two officers who responded, Detective Sergeant Simon Jones and Detective Constable Dean Sliney, (reportedly huge Arsenal fans) were the guests of Mesut & his brother Mutlu at his private box at the Emirates along with another officer, Detective Constable Helen Nicolson, who was not directly involved in the case.

1405114974151_Image_galleryImage_LONDON_ENGLAND_FEBRUARY_21405115137159_wps_5_LONDON_ENGLAND_FEBRUARY_2On March 28, Lee Essex got a note that ‘after careful consideration’ no further action would be taken in his case against Ozil.

Apparently a colleague reported the cops to the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards and they opened an investigation which is still going on some 5 months later. However, on Friday the Daily Mail showed their photo evidence to Scotland Yard who said the officers will be investigated under criminal caution.  And Mesut may be questioned again. The story is now getting play worldwide as Mesut & Germany prepare for tomorrow’s World Cup Final.

It’s a huge embarrassment for the Metropolitan Police, obviously, as well as a colossally stupid move on behalf of both Mesut and the officers in question.  Whether it was innocent or not, there was no way for it not to look really bad. You just don’t leave yourself open to that sort of scrutiny – or you shouldn’t. I guess perhaps they weren’t expecting to be photographed, but why? He’s always photographed! He was off injured at the time, so undoubtedly the photogs were taking shots of him in his box to see his reactions to the match. It just takes one person to leak the info to a journalist and then for the paper to look at the pictures from that date and to identify the people in the box with him. Instant scandal! ::SMH::

It’s the wretched pR0nstache he’s sporting, I swear. I blame it for all his bad decisions. That and his lack of a headband.

He’s the cutest, not the smartest.
And if you compare his style evolution to what he looked like 4years ago, even the former title might be disputable.
    Why, mesut, why?

Hey! I am good, just working nd working, doing what i love. Forced to scale down on all the football and player shipping. I see your posts in my inbox. How are you? Are you in brazil?

Glad to hear you’re doing well! Alas, I am not in Brazil. I had to have knee surgery. Tore my meniscus and sprained my ACL. Had the surgery on Tuesday. Been hobbling around on a cane for two months already so it was time. But I did go to Madrid for the Clasico in March. Seeing a Clasico in the Bernabeu was an amazing experience (aside from the losing part).

Oh did we lose that one? Ooo torn meniscus thats nasty. ACL reconstruction has a very good success rate so i wish you a speedy recovery. Coincidentally i am currently in orthopaedics, ha ha. Im excited for the new season, hope to be able to watch a few games

If only he hadn’t been injured at the time then probably no one would have noticed. Still stupid for everyone involved.

How long has Mesut been playing professional futbol? But I bet that it was “over reacted” and was just looking for money as far as Mesut bumping into him. But it doesn’t look good with the police officer to be sitting in a box with him.
