A World Cup Thank You Letter

20 Jul

1It was early May when Lozil originally approached me about writing all of the national team profiles before the World Cup began. We also briefly discussed how HB&HB was going to cover all of the matches.

I absolutely love that she came up with such a great way to bring her readers a different perspective on the World Cup. I truly believe that the sport needs more knowledgeable and engaging women to bring to the masses. A different perspective is never a bad thing and it is very often eye opening.

This group of ladies (meridiansour, Katie Ann, Dr. P, hopechaser, Kfunk22, Mandi, forzasusan, and myself) brought knowledge, personality, humor, and passion to everything they presented to you, the readers. I hope we have represented not just women but fans well.

What I’m trying to say is thank you, first to Lozil for allowing us to contribute to your baby. The trust you placed in us was not easy but thank you for believing in the knowledge and passion that each of us have. I think I can speak on behalf of the eight of us when I say that. I hope we represented this blog in the fabulous way that you have over the years.

Second, thank you to these seven other wonderful women. I see a few of you fairly regularly and know what amazing women you really are. Those of you that I only know through this digital world, just know that this has been an honor. I am, honestly, humbled by each of you. You are unique and wonderful. It has been my pleasure to be included in such an amazing group of knowledgeable women.

And finally, thank you to the readers and commenters. You are the reason this blog is going strong and you are the ones that kept us going. Thank you for reading through our minor mishaps and sometimes late posts. I hope we entertained you, educated you, and showed that we adore you just as much as we adore this beautiful game.

Poldi hugs for everyone! Thank you!
