SD Eibar for the Double Win

27 Aug

DefiendeAlEibarDid anyone watch the SD Eibar vs Real Sociedad match on Saturday? No? Alrighty then. I did watch, partly because I like to cheer for the underdogs and partly because I wanted to see how my investment would work out.

That’s right, investment. I am one of the 10,000 people from 50 countries who helped SD Eibar keep its La Liga spot by purchasing stock in the team. Seemed like the right thing to do. I mean, how often do you get a chance to invest in a sports team, right? Especially one which had Xabi Alonso and David Silva in its squad at one point in the past.

Just who is he giving the finger to in this shot?

The little team that could then went out and won their first ever La Liga match on the opening day of the season. All thanks to this nifty set piece from Javi Lara:

With Osasuna out I was happy to see a new Basque team arise 🙂
