Fuck Your “In Principle” And Leave Me Alone To Cry

28 Aug

Alonso_IMA_240614.variant524x295Bayern Munich have announced that they have an agreement with Xabi “in principle” Fuck principles. I can’t even be calm or polite about this.

FCB “Optimistic” About Xabi Alonso

Shortly before the summer transfer window ends and following the signing of Mehdi Benatia, FC Bayern are poised to announce another star acquisition. Germany’s biggest club and 32-year-old Spanish world and European champion Xabi Alonso have “agreed in principle” on the midfielder joining Munich from Real Madrid, Bayern deputy chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen informed a press conference at the club’s Säbener Strasse HQ on Thursday.

“It is correct that we are in friendly and final talks with Real Madrid and will hopefully reach agreement in the next day or two,” Dreesen continued. Alonso will come to Munich in the course of the day for the obligatory pre-transfer medical. Dreesen also stressed that FCB are keen to sign Alonso outright and are not seeking a loan deal for the player.

“We believe it is necessary [to sign Alonso] for our team, to meet the requirements of our fans and the club as a whole,” commented board director for sport Matthias Sammer. “It was a purely sporting decision to help us immediately and raise our quality. Alonso’s constitution means he is capable of playing at the very highest level for at least another two years. We’re optimistic, and our squad will be in very, very good shape.”

The defensive midfielder joined Madrid in 2009 and collected a Champions League winners’ medal in May this year. He previously spent five years with Liverpool and Real Sociedad, interrupted by a year with SD Eibar. He made 114 appearances for Spain, winning the 2010 World Cup and the Euro in 2008 and 2012. He announced his retirement from the international game after Spain’s group stage exit from the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Am I evil to hope that the deal falls through at the last minute? He’s leaving us and he’s going to play for Pep Guardiola. PEP GUARDIOLA.

I’ll be in my room punching my pillows if you need me.

I REALLY hope he fails his medical. Between Di Maria and this… Ugh. What is Nagore going to do? Her store is in Madrid. Long distance relationship?

Her store is in San Sebastian and she lives in Madrid (It’s a 5 1/2 hour train ride or 1 1/2 flight between the two cities), so she already has staff who take care of it.

Xabi has already passed the medical, there was a tweet and youtube video of his arrival and they said he passed the tests…

This is so sad, I don’t know if I can or want to watch the team playing at all for some time 😦 I hope there will be no more last minute surprises, no more players leaving.

worst news to see literally first thing in the morning when I turned my phone alarm off. Today I am wearing black. And I was quite cranky with my students all day. Definitely quickly wore off my high from my Bilbao’s epic win yesterday… And I thought mourning the loss of Ander Herrera was enough for the summer. ugh.

been trying to figure out what i think about this whole matter since rumors started swirling yesterday. today, i’m still at a loss…
realistically speaking, we’ll miss di maria more and this season was probably Xabi’s swan song at the club anyway but wow, what a sucker punch.

All of this is a bad dream, we will wake up and everything will be back to the way it was. Di Maria and Xabi in tact.

If only that were possible. I would go down the Rabbit Hole for Xabi or take the blue pill for Di Maria. I would do it. Or some how find peace in obliviousness. I could do that. It doesn’t even help the Cris won a major award. It’s like a leg lamp in a window… I just don’t care.
-I really hope everyone who reads this gets my movie references or it all sounds like gibberish.-

I got all the references; kudos on the last one.

I have a massive deadline looming Sunday for a major project so that is going to keep my emotional breakdown in check. Come Monday however…

That furnace reference made me laugh out loud inappropriately.

      • Christine August 29, 2014 at 9:03 am #

I so got it, it along with my current emotional state is Fragile. Mentally, i am going downstairs to yell and bang at that blasted furnace aka Madrid administration. Ughhhh

So it’s really pushing through then. Not since Raul have I cried like this. Just stupid tears sliding down my stupid face because I. Cannot. Deal. My Xabier cannot leave Madrid like this. He is still a rock in our midfield and the voice of reason in the locker room. And for what? To play for Munich, that already has all the bloody talent in the world. To be managed by Pep, of all people for chrissake.

Di Maria departure was a longtime rumor so one had time to get used to the idea. But Xabi’s news was totally unexpected. It all seems to have happened really quickly. How come nothing leaked out till it was a done deal?

  12. mygypsyspirit August 28, 2014 at 8:46 pm #

I can’t deal with this. I can’t. I’ll be in my room ugly crying. It’s sudden like Mesut. I can’t…
