A Big Ol’ Catch Up

10 Sep

Satellite (3)Well, I’m finally coming out  (slowly) of my post-trip sickness, just in time for my surgery on Friday. Yeehah! Since we never post on 9/11, I thought I’d try to catch up on all that that team has been up to since I headed off to England. It’s going to be picture heavy and text lite because I have been pretty much unable to watch anything for the better part of two weeks.

Going all the way back to our loss in San Sebastian (which I did watch) here’s the team’s arrival. Looking bad ass off the pitch, looking not so great on it (sadly).

At the Hotel Astoria 7, Nacho & Arbeloa signed autographs for the fan. Here’s a video.

The less said about that game, the better. Next up, Arbeloa took part in the Predator Instinct boot launch and joining him were the Lion King & Jailbait!

All three look delicious in the video. I’m not a fan of the poor caged leopard that they unveil at the end though. Boooo!

Chicharito had his first training on September 2nd.

The mothership also had a video celebrating Gareth’s first year with Real Madrid.

Love you right back, G-Money!

On the 3rd while I was busy flying back from London, the players who weren’t on national team duty (Keylor Navas, Arbeloa, Nacho, Illarra, Chicharito,) weren joined by Castilla goalkeeper Rubén Yáñez for a training session.

On the 4th the same first teamers trained along with the reserves.

They repeated that on the 5th, the only difference being that the Mister was back from the UEFA Coaches Forum.

On the Monday, James & Cristiano returned to training as the team began to prepare for el Derbi Madrileño.

Kroos, Coentrão, Pepe, Casillas, Isco, Iker, Varane and Benzema joined in Tuesday’s training while Dani Carvajal, Jese and Sergio trained indoors.

Today Los Blancos had their third training of the week. Sergio trained outdoors today and 4 members of Juvenil A joined the team.

Holy crap! Have I actually just caught up? I guess so. I’m so sorry that I didn’t have time to cover international duty. We ended up with two mangled players – Dani Carvajal (hamstring injury) and Sami Khedira. Sami, who already had a left hamstring injury underwent an arthroscopic revision on his left knee in Germany today. No word on how long he will be out. Dani’s seems minor. Here’s a few pictures from national team duty:

Two other moments of hilarity from international duty that watishista mygypsyspirit found:

Sergio’s toddler swat (Zlatan did it better, honey!)
And this hilarious, yet creepy Vine, Gareth is now using Cristiano’s goal celebration. Oh lordy, he’s going to be wearing his skin any day now. Oy vey.

And on that note… ::shudder::

Hope your surgery goes well, Lozil, and that your recovery goes swiftly!

Thanks, Jel. They had to postpone it till next Friday. I still haven’t kicked this bronchitis so they can’t sedate me. So looking forward to getting it over with.
