Prepping For Cornellà, Strategic Partnerships & Shortlisted!

Given half a chance, I'd tried to yank down his shorts too. WHO SAID THAT?

Given half a chance, I’d try to yank down his shorts too.

::cough:: said MyGypsySpirit ::cough:: (Who am I kidding? I happily depants Arbie with little or no provocation). The team had their final training at the Bernabeu before tomorrow’s Copa Del Rey clash with Cornellà. CR7 had the day off again while Medrán, Raúl de Tomás, Lucas Torró and Jaime from Castilla joined the big boys. (Video)

Today Real Madrid announced a “strategic alliance” with IPIC (International Petroleum Investment Company). The 4 captains (Iker, Sergio, Marcelo & Pepe) as well Crisba were in the Presidential Box for the ceremony with The Peez and His Excellency Khadem Abdullah al-Qubaisi, chief executive of IPIC. After the presentation the entire team posed for photos.Satellite (5)

The Ballon D’Or 23 man shortlist was announced today and we have 6 representatives (and one former player, Di Maria). Nice!

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Diego Costa (Atlético Madrid/Chelsea), Thibaut Courtois (Atlético Madrid/Chelsea), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Ángel Di María (Real Madrid/Manchester United), Mario Götze (Bayern Munich), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (PSG), Andrés Iniesta (Barcelona), Toni Kroos (Bayern Munich/Real Madrid), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich), Javier Mascherano (Barcelona), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Thomas Müller (Bayern Munich), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Neymar (Barcelona), Paul Pogba (Juventus), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich), James Rodríguez (Monaco/Real Madrid), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munich), Yaya Touré (Manchester City).

And the Mister was nominated for Best Coach of the Year as well. Here is the 10 man shortlist:

Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid), Antonio Conte (Juventus/Italy national team), Pep Guardiola (Bayern Munich), Jürgen Klinsmann (USA national team), Joachim Löw (Germany national team), José Mourinho (Chelsea), Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City), Alejandro Sabella (Argentina national team), Diego Simeone (Atlético Madrid), Louis van Gaal (Holland national team/Manchester United).

The 3 man shortlists for both awards will be announced on December 1st and the awards ceremony will take place in Zurich on January 15th.

Notice who didn’t make the 23 man short list? Chompers. I guess no matter how good a season you have, Suarez, if you can’t keep your teeth to yourself, people will tkae notice.  More or less, if you chews, you lose. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist).

Congrats to all the very worthy nominees!

I can’t even get mad at you. It’s 100 percent truth.

As much as I’d love to see Cris win the Ballon d’Or (and he does deserve it), I would love to see a defender get it. But I’d settle for Di Maria, Kroos, or Muller for their great World Cup runs.

These awards are not just based on stats (if so Chompers would be there) but I’m sure the selection committee is well aware that the nominees and winners are role models for many children and so should uphold sportsmanship conduct.

And after all that diplomacy, Hey, Suarez! Nya-nya-nya-nya-ya! Razzberry!!!!
