Denial: Not Just A River In Egypt, More Like My Current Address

18 Nov

Satellite (14)I’m having a spectacular pout over the news that Man Edith will be out three, possibly four months. ::puts fingers in ears and sings “la la la LA! I can’t HEAR you!”::

It’s amazing, isn’t it how Edith went from “worst signing EVAH!” among some fans to the wailing and gnashing of teeth that greeted this shite news..  Castilla bebes Álvaro Medrán and Rubén Yáñez joined Pacheco, Marcelo, Nacho, Arbie, Fabio, Dani and Jesé for training. Keylor Navas and Illarra worked out inside with Lukita who started his recovery work. Animo!

But when the universe taketh away, it also giveth and Jesé is training like a mofo. Can’t wait to see him back on the pitch. (Video)

Let’s hope we see good solid recovery progress for our injured players and no more ouchies going forward. I want to cocoon this entire team in cotton wool and bubble wrap for the rest of the season.

I’m in denial about Modric too. I admit that I had a hard time accepting him at first. I don’t think (correct me if I’m wrong because I honestly don’t remember) I said he was the worst signing ever, but I realize that I didn’t like him. I love him now. And I’m sad he’ll be out.

I felt that way about Kroos earlier this season. I hated the whole idea of him joining RM. Now, I absolutely adore him and think he is one of the best footballers I’ve ever beheld. Sadly, according to an article I just read, we’ll be seeing less of Kroos in lower-key matches, because Carlo wants to protect him from suffering an injury.
Modric getting hurt is a huge blow. However, I think RM have some midfielding options that aren’t too shabby, Don’t you?

Absolutely. I feel like we have a saying at Madrid. That saying is: “BUY ALL THE MIDFIELDERS!”
