Baloncesto Win Copa Del Rey!

23 Feb

I have much love for so many of our basketball players and Real Madrid is basically one big awesome family.

Real Madrid Baloncesto won the Clasico final of the Copa del Rey in the last minute of the game. Barcelona 71 – 77 Real Madrid.

It is their 25th Copa del Rey title and they retain the trophy they won last year. Rudy Fernandez was Copa del Rey MVP. The Peez was there to congratulate them!

My favorites (Sergio Llull and Marcus Slaughter) took to social media with their teammates in much the same way that our footballers take to Twitter. And our footballers offered their congrats as well.

Two from Coach Pablo Laso:

Two from Sergio Llull:

Congrats from Iker:

And congrats from Flotsam & Jetsam:

I saved the best for last. The team presented the trophy to the fans earlier today and Marcus “I’m Every Madridista” Slaughter had a great amount of fun on the pitch at the Bernabeu. The following are two days worth of his Instagram posts.

And congratulations to the Infantil A squad for winning the Mini Copa! They beat Unicaja 60 – 83 to win the Mini Copa for the third year in a row. FloP was on hand to congratulate them as well.

Youth A team

Baloncesto = Copa del Rey champions

Baloncesto Infatil A = Mini Copa champions

Real Madrid = La Liga leaders

Real Madrid Castilla = 2 Division leaders

¡Hala Madrid!
