UPDATED: It’s Official: Douchebag Fans To Face The Music

23 Mar

real_madrid_logoWell that was quick (and smart)! I’d barely calmed down from my rant and Real Madrid has already identified the fans who went apeshit on G-Money, Jese  & Sergio and are taking action.

UPDATED: Added official English translation.

OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION | 03/23/2015

Following the incidents that occurred involving three individuals in the early hours of this morning outside Ciudad Real Madrid, Real Madrid C. F. wishes to outline the following:

1.- The Club has already identified the individuals responsible, one a Real Madrid member, for these aggressive and violent actions against several of our players.

2.- Details of this member’s identity have been sent to the Club’s Discipline Commission, requesting that it expel the individual from Real Madrid for what is considered a very serious offence.

3.- This afternoon, the Discipline Commission held an emergency meeting and decided to open a disciplinary investigation and provisionally suspend the individual’s rights as a member and access to the Santiago Bernabéu or any Real Madrid facilities.

4.- Real Madrid has notified Spain’s National Anti-Violence Commission of the incidents that took place, as well as the identities of the individuals responsible, requesting that it apply those sanctions that it considers appropriate.

5.- Furthermore, Real Madrid will take any applicable legal action against the individuals responsible for these incidents.

Excellent and fast response. Sends a strong message. Don’t let the douchebags win. The punishment should be swift and harsh. The club needs to make and enforce very clear rules about fan abuse of players.

Thank god. Also so pathetic one of them was a member of the club. I mean for Christs sake.

      People are foolish and disgusting.

I’ve always found it interesting that there is actual procedure to identify boorish fans. In the states, it’s almost encouraged as part of the stadium experience, and the worst thing that happens (at least in my experience) is the moron gets thrown out of the game. In this situation, it’s an actual legal offense! Such a dichotomy….

sorry, I didn’t read your rant Lozil….wasn’t aware that there was actual damage to cars, etc. I thought it was just obnoxious behavior in the stands.

Keep in mind, “member of the club” may not mean “employee.” It could mean socio, which is essentially just someone that has voting within the club.

      • headbandsandheartbreak March 23, 2015 at 8:32 pm #

Yep, the original Spanish says “socio”

        • mygypsyspirit March 23, 2015 at 8:34 pm #

I realize it sounds like I’m playing it off, and I’m not. I just was trying to make sure it was clarified, I suppose.

Either way, knowing that someone that has voting rights in the club would do something like this doesn’t really speak well for the rest of us. I am glad action was taken.

          • headbandsandheartbreak March 23, 2015 at 8:36 pm #

No, it makes sense to clarify. Not everyone knows about socios and member vs. employee.

        • Dr. Heidi March 24, 2015 at 1:23 pm #

Could you please explain what ‘socio’ means?

          • headbandsandheartbreak March 24, 2015 at 2:48 pm #

Sure. A socio is a member of Real Madrid. They have voting rights, etc. It’s not like belonging to a fan club. It’s something more complex. In essence, a shareholder.

And they thought they wouldn’t be identified? Idiocy with a side dish of stupidity.

Clubs in Spain aren’t owned in the same manner that clubs in England/Italy are owned. They don’t have one person or corporation with money that gets to make all the big decisions. Spanish clubs are owned by the public. Example: Lozil holds shares in Real Oviedo, meaning that she is technically part owner of the club.

Good! What F*** is wrong with people and a socio at that…geez!
