Launching The 2015-2016 Kits

15 Jun

Satellite (11)Oh y’all, I had some funny commentary planned about the kit pictures, but it’s after 10 PM, I just got home from work and my brain is completely fried, so it’s just going to be a big ol’ picture dump. I will say this though – I think the new slogan (Only Perfect Counts) is completely douche-tastic and exactly the sort of pressure that this team doesn’t need. It’s sadly true though.

What’s next year? “Even if you do your best, it doesn’t fucking matter if you didn’t win” “We’ll only like you until the first time you don’t score.” “Doesn’t matter how much you’ve given this team, we’ll eviscerate you the second your form dips.” or “We’ll take gossip as gospel, not give you the benefit of the doubt and abuse you at every turn.” Those would also be true. Certain sections of the RM fan base certainly doesn’t need a battle cry, they do pretty good at beating the team up without it. Ugh.

So yeah, I don’t like the slogan. But I do like the actual kits.

Here’s what the numbers/letters look like on the back:

Take a look at the new kits for the 2015-16 season

The home and away strips are now available at the Santiago Bernabéu store.

Real Madrid and Adidas today unveiled the club’s kits for the 2015-16 season. White and grey are the principal colours of the new shirts, on which the crest and the inscription Hala Madrid y nada más also appear on the inside of the collar. The new strips are now available at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu store.

Grey detailing
For the coming campaign, the white of the home kit is combined with silver-grey in the shirt’s three stripes. The design again features a round-neck collar and also sees the innovation of a double-sleeve effect using a different material.

The shorts and socks continue the white and grey aesthetic, in a strip that allies tradition with design. The crest, with a high-density thermo-stamped application in different textures, maintains the club’s traditional colours.

Away kit
Grey takes centre stage on the away shirt thanks to the tone Silver Glory, with which Adidas aim to honour the colour of the trophies that Real Madrid have won throughout their history, as well as those that are still to come. The jersey boasts an innovative fabric which, despite having the feeling of cotton, does not lose the functionality and comfort that the players need.

The three stripes are fluorescent yellow in this kit, a colour that is repeated in the detailing on the shorts and socks. The shirt also features a round-neck collar, and the badge combines grey and white.

So what do you think? Will you be buying the new kit? I especially like the casual and training lines.

Not necessarily (not that I am saying he’s going to leave either). Remember last year’s promos had Xabi in them and he presented the jersey at the Bernabeu store the day before he signed for Bayern…

I don’t love the grey. I kind of love the potential third kit, however. I also love the goalkeeper kits.

With you on the slogan. I groaned loudly when I read it. One of my coworkers called over the cubical to see if I was okay.

I also want that white pullover that Pepe is unzipping. Not the ACTUAL one he’s wearing, but one like it. If it were Silva unzipping it, then yeah… I’d want that actual pullover 😉

I want whatever Isco Cutie Pie is wearing. No, that’s not true. I just want Isco! 😉

Full disclosure: There’s not many on our team that I don’t want. I obviously have my favorites but we don’t call them “Team Pretty” for nothing.

Like the gray. Hate the font. So nice of RM to promote so clearly their use of photoshop in creating the campaign.

At least this font is better than comic sans from 13/14

Oh man, I’m getting so much snark from my non-Madridista friends about that slogan. All the snark. I do like the kit, though.
