Castilla’s Llorente, Mayoral and Odegaard also took part in the session. Yesterday’s starters had a recovery session while Cris & Sergio worked out indoors. Pepe, Dani, James and Arbie continue with their rehab work.
The team had a visitor today, former Blanco (1992-96) and Chile National Team player Iván “Bam Bam” Zamorano. The retired striker visited his old stomping grounds and shared a few thoughts.
Zamorano visits team training session
“In the Champions League the team has shown that they can do great things”, stated the Chilean forward.
Iván Zamorano watched the first team’s training session at Real Madrid City. The former player from Chile, who scored 101 goals for the Whites between 1992 and 1996, greeted Rafa Benítez and Antonio Gómez, who he coincided with during his time at Madrid.
“It is always nice to come back and see old friends. When Benito Floro left, Benítez was left in charge with Del Bosque. After Real Madrid he followed his own path, setting out his style and football philosophy. Returning to the club is a really big challenge and a huge responsibility”.
Expectations for the season
“I hope they can have a great season. In the Champions League the team has shown that they can do great things”.
“He has had bad luck with injuries. He is a player that always responds, fights, and shows commitment, he has a lot to be praised, and I think that people value that. The team need him as a key player inside the area and in that regard he is number one”.
Next up, more training as we prepare for Saturday’s match vs. Celta de Vigo.
