Prepping For La Real

29 Apr

SatelliteThe team returned to training as they prepare to meet Real Sociedad.  Oh to be in San Sebastian in April! (Brings back memories, eh mygypsyspirit?)

Cris and Benz continued their recovery. Zizou called up the Pips (Odegaard, Mayoral and Llorente) for the session. (Video)

Zidane: “The game against Real Sociedad is another final”

“I’m very happy with what we’re doing but we have a long way to go because in every game we are playing for the season”, he added.

Zinedine Zidane took centre stage at the start of the new era of Realmadrid TV. The coach gave updates about the Whites and analysed the match at the Anoeta on Saturday: “It is another final. From here until the end of the season we only have finals remaining. We will prepare well for it. We have not had much time to prepare, but we know that. We have to play every three days and it is both a difficult stadium and a difficult team to play against. They are a good team who will make it difficult for us but we are prepared”.

Four months in charge of the team

“I’m Happy, the truth is that these four months have been great in terms of work. The most important thing for us is to work hard and I think this team is on the right path. I’m happy with what we’re doing, but at the same time, I would like to say that we still have a long way to go. There are only a few games left but we have a long way to go because in every game we are playing for the season and we know that. We are concentrating on what we have to do. These past four months have gone by quickly”.

Champions League Semi-finals
“We know what we have to do. We know that only winning is good enough. We drew in the first leg and in the return leg we need to score in order to win. As I always say, I’m only thinking about our next game. I only have the game against Real Sociedad in my head. What I can say is it will be a day all about the fans. I know that the fans have always been good to us, with all the players, and I think they will keep doing that, and even more so because we are one step away from the final and we’ll need the fans, as always. I have no doubt that it will be a great night for the players because the fans will help a lot”.

Carvajal: “On Wednesday we’ll respond and give everything to get to the final

Carvajal, Jesé, Lucas Vázquez, Nacho, Casilla and Yáñez, attended the premiere of the new free to air, HD service from Realmadrid TV.

Carvajal, Jesé, Lucas Vázquez, Nacho, Casilla and Yáñez were the stars of the new talk show “La Tertulia” on Madrid’s new TV channel, which today started broadcasting free to air and in HD. The academy products of Zidane’s team discussed the final stages of the season. Carvajal said: “On behalf of the whole team I want to thank you for the support you’ve given us throughout the season. Wednesday has to be a night that stays in the minds of every single madridista. We’re going to be there to respond and leave everything out on the pitch to get to the final of the Champions League”.

“We’ve had a very good month, the team is on the up. We’ve got another final in La Liga on Saturday. Then it’s the semi-final of the Champions League in front of our fans who I hope can help us make it through the tie. Zidane has managed to unite the entire squad and create a group of friends who are all working towards the same goal. That is what defines us”.

Nacho: “We’re full of belief”
“We’re enjoying a great moment, in the final stretch of the season with everything still to play for. We’re full of belief and hunger to do things well and we want to keep enjoying beautiful moments wearing this badge”.

Lucas Vazquez: “We’ve got three games left in La Liga and if we win them all, we’ve got a chance.”
“We’re hungry to play, to have special nights with the fans behind us 100%. The team and the fans experience these games in different ways. Seeing people supporting you is special, it’s beautiful. We feel really well-backed by the fans”.

Jesé: “The team is well motivated and hungry”
“I see the team with belief, motivated and very hungry. We want to give the fans something to celebrate because they deserve it. We’re one big family and we deserve something big”.

Lucas Vázquez: “The team is having a very steady end to the season”
“We’re going into the final stages very excited and hungry, and we hope it ends in the best possible way. Real Madrid never give up. The team is having a very steady end to the season. We’ve got three games left and if we win them all we’ve got a chance of winning La Liga. We have to do our job and then see what happens”.

Casilla: “We’re going to do good things in the final stages”
“We’re a group who help each other in any way we can and I’m sure we’re going to do good things in the final stages of the season. I’m very proud to be at Real Madrid and I’m trying to make the most of these moments”.

Yáñez: “The fans always help us to win games”
“When you start at Madrid, you never think about making it to the first team. Playing for Real Madrid is a gift. It’s my first season with the first team. The fans always help us to get results”.
