How has it been almost a week since the start of this tournament?! Today’s action wasn’t quite as exciting as some of the rest of the week.

Man of the Match: Kyle Walker (England)
Both sides had quite a few chances to score before Wales finally broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute. It was a beautiful free kick from Gareth Bale that Hart got a hand to but couldn’t keep out. The half ended with Wales ahead. In the second half, England used two subs early. Both Sturridge and Vardy came in and ended up being the difference. In the 56th minute, Jamie Vardy got his head to it to even the score. Then in the 2nd minute of added time, Sturridge took the shot that went in at the near post. England got their win.
Group C:

Man of the Match: Gareth McAuley (Northern Ireland)
I’m not sure what I expected out of this match, but I’m not sure I expected this result. I expected Ukraine to put at least one past Northern Ireland. I will say I was ecstatic at the result. The half ended scoreless but that wouldn’t last. In the 49th minute, on a cross from Norwood, McAuley headed in Northern Ireland’s first ever Euro goal! The match had to be (very) briefly suspended in the 58th minute because it was hailing! In the 6th minute of added time, Northern Ireland scored their second on a neat shot from Dallas. Solid win for Northern Ireland!
Wednesday 15 June 2016: Germany 0 – 0 Poland
Man of the Match: Jerome Boateng (Germany)
I don’t know that anyone expected this to be a scoreless draw. Sami Khedira conceded a free kick in only the 3rd minute that prevented what could have been a dangerous Polish counter attack. Germany then had all the chances but continued to miss the target. Poland’s first real chance was in the 21st minute. Milik nearly scored in the 46th minute for Poland. Germany (mainly Boateng) did an excellent job of neutralizing Lewandowski. Neither team could finish with a goal in the end.
