Zidane: “El Sadar has always been a difficult place for us to go and that’s not going to change”

“We’ve had time to work and we’re feeling good physically”, he added.

Zinedine Zidane appeared in the press room at Real Madrid City on the day prior to his side’s LaLiga match day 22 clash against Osasuna (Saturday, 8:45pm CET). The Whites’ coach had the following to say: “We’re looking good because we’ve had time to do our work and physically we feel fine. It’s a very difficult place to go, they’re a tough opponent, they always were during my time as a player. El Sadar has always been a difficult place for us to go and that’s not going to change”.

“It’s a case of top against bottom and I don’t like that idea at all because Osasuna always play well, particularly at home. We know what to expect at El Sadar, but we’re ready for it and feel good physically”.

Style of play
“We almost always play the same way. When we’ve got the ball we try and play good football because we’ve got the players to do that, and when we lose it, pressure well to try and win the ball back quickly. Sometimes the system depends on the players you’ve got available and sometimes it’s to surprise your opponents”.

Game against Celta postponed
“We always want to play. Fifteen days without a game is a long time for us because the players want to play. We respect the decision and we’re focused only on what we have to do now. It would have been better to play. Training is fine when you’re in pre-season but players just love to play”.

“We’re only thinking about tomorrow’s game and doing all we can to get three points, just as we’ve done all season. We’ve got a good squad to come through this with all the weapons we have”.

Rescheduled games
“We don’t know what will happen in these games. In fact, we still don’t even know the date for the Celta match. We have to focus entirely on tomorrow and not be thinking about how many more points we might have once we’ve played these two rescheduled games”.

“I would have liked to play the game, just as the players would, but the positive side is that we’ve been able to work hard. Now we have to focus on the positive things, and we’ve been able to work on things that would’ve been impossible if we’d been playing every three days”.

Keylor Navas
“He looks very good. I’ve got a squad of 24 players and I don’t want to think about the future. I’m concerned with the players I have and the competitions we’re involved in”.

Isco’s contract renewal
“The club and the player will decide on his future. He’s an important player for us, he works hard and he’s crucial. He’s a player I’m very fond of”.

Refereeing performances
“We have to respect them because they have a difficult job. They do the best they can and sometimes that’s not easy. I don’t think they’re worse than ever”.

Bale’s recovery
“I hope to have him back with us before the second leg against Napoli. He’s fine and he needs to get back training with the team, which is absolutely crucial. He’s working well and I can see he looks motivated”.

Carvajal and Modric
“They’re ready to be back in the squad. We’ll wait and see whether or not they play tomorrow. ”.

Copa del Rey final venue
“I’ve spoken to the president about it and if he says there are building works on the Bernabéu, then there are building works”.

PSG vs. Barcelona in the Champions League
“Both have great squads and we’ll have to wait and see how each team is playing at the time. It’ll be a great game and I’ll certainly be watching”.
