Last Training Before Man City & Famous Visitors

25 Jul

The team had their final training session before facing Man City tomorrow night in LA.

Hard to believe but today was the 12th day of training at UCLA. Everyone except Sergio was on the pitch. He stayed indoors and deprived us of his Ramos-ness. (Video)

Visitors

Lots of visitors lately! Julia Roberts can’t seem to quit us. She visited after the Manchester United game.

Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig visited the team again this year and had a fanboy moment:

“To meet the team is a dream come true. I’m always talking about Real Madrid. Every season I buy the Real Madrid shirt and get my name put on it and the one I’m taking away with me now will be going up in a frame at home”

Another repeat visitor this year, and one who is always welcome is Davey Becks. Yum. He visited the boys at the hotel.

“As a group, our target is clear: to win everything we can”, insisted the central midfielder.

Marcos Llorente, one of the five madridistas who joined the team’s pre-season tour after having featured at the Under-21 European Championship, spoke to Realmadrid TV and Realmadrid.com to offer his impressions following the first two days of training at UCLA: “I’m really happy to be back here. I’m raring to get back working with the group at 100%. We joined up slightly later than everyone else and we’ve got to reach the same level as them, but I’m raring to help the team in whatever way I can”.

“The most important thing is to prepare well fitness-wise, look at the areas that the gaffer wants to work on from a tactical point of view and build your fitness up for the whole season. Every Real Madrid player dreams of pulling this shirt on”.

“I’m raring to be involved in a game with the team and I hope that I get to the chance soon. On an individual level, I’m back here to help the team and improve and develop as a player. As a team, our target is clear: to win everything we can”.’

Casemiro: “Zidane knows the dressing room and how the players think”

“Our plan remains the same: to prepare thoroughly for the two Super Cup games we’ve got coming up”, noted the Brazilian.

Casemiro spoke to the media on the eve of the second game of Real Madrid’s pre-season tour, which sees the Whites come up against Manchester City at Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum: “Our plan remains the same, we’re not going to start altering our preparations for the two Super Cup games that we’ve got coming up. Every Real Madrid game is important, but the Super Cups are the most important ones”.

“Our preparations continue apace, today we did some fitness and technical work and tomorrow we’ll pick up some tempo in the game and that’s important. We continue to work in the same way, as we get ready for the games that lie ahead”.

Zidane
“With Zidane at the helm we’re a step ahead of the rest. He played the game himself and was a star. He’s now doing a great job as a coach. He knows the dressing room and how the players think and that’s really important for us”.

Cristiano Ronaldo
“The best player in the world always has to be at the best club in the world. He’s an extremely important player for us and we can’t wait to welcome him back”.

Last season
“Last season was my best campaign yet. It’s through hard work that I’ve got to where I am today. I continue to work with much humility and a great desire to learn. The key to it all is hard work”.

Mbappé
“These are things that people outside the club talk about. He’s not a Real Madrid player and I can’t comment on any player who doesn’t belong to Real Madrid. We’re aware that he’s a great player, but we’ve also got the BBC, who can wreak real havoc. The more players we have, the better it is for us. That said, the best players are already here”.

“We know all about the quality that players like Mbappé, Neymar… possess, but I’ve got to talk about our players. We’ve got the world’s greatest player, then there’s Bale – who’s working very hard – and Karim, who has great quality, Isco, Borja…I’ll back our players to the hilt”.

Transfer window
“In today’s game, the players are really highly valued. The people that work within the clubs know how much they cost. A player has an agent, who does the work behind the scenes and knows what they’re doing. If the amounts that we’re seeing are being paid it’s because people believe in the player and we must congratulate them for doing their jobs”.

Ramos
“He’s got a problem in his ear and it’s a bit delicate. We want him to be back with us as soon as possible, he’s a real leader, both on and off the pitch. He’s still got issues with his ear and the doctors are keeping a close eye on it”.

Marcos Llorente
“He had a great season last year. He’s a top player and has real quality. Madrid are the ones who end up benefiting. I want to play all of the games and the gaffer is the one who knows who has to play”.

Kaká
“Kaká is a big friend of mine. We all know what a great legacy he has in the game. I admire him greatly and have a lot of time for him, both on and off the field. He helped me out massively when I came to the club”.

Neymar
“I haven’t spoken to him. He’s a great player, there’s no question about that. We know that it’s very difficult to leave Barcelona. I really admire him, but he’s a Barcelona player and I don’t talk about players at other clubs”.

“To meet the team is a dream come true. I’m always talking about Real Madrid. Every season I buy the Real Madrid shirt and get my name put on it and the one I’m taking away with me now will be going up in a frame at home”, he said after collecting the players’ autographs.
