I’ve been focusing on letter writing to get out the vote for the midterm elections so that’s definitely cut down on my Real Madrid time. I did get to watch the Champions League match (while still writing) but it’s been hit or miss otherwise for the past few weeks. But El Clasico is upon us and I’ve just posted my final bunch of letters so I’m taking a break from freaking out about the fuckery in my country to focus on freaking out about El Clasico. Ugh. First off, I must thank the ever amazing hopechaser for single-handedly covering the World Cup and doing such a brilliant job at it. She is a true star and the best watishista correspondent that a girl could ask for. She’s been holding down the fort at a time where I’m just not capable of doing so and I am very grateful.
I’m not good with change and that’s an understatement. I’ve been going through massive change in my personal life which is why I haven’t been around this summer. While I feel that all the upheaval will ultimately be beneficial, it doesn’t make the process any easier. Real Madrid announced the signing of 22 year old right back Álvaro Odriozola from Real Sociedad, pending a medical. Álvaro came up through La Real’s youth system and made his debut for the first team in 2017. He has represented Spain at the U21 and senior levels. The signing, which is for six seasons, is rumored to be a €40 million deal. You can check out some of his moves here.
