The Daily Drool – EPL – Arsenal: Gabriel Martinelli

We’re going to start doing some league Drools starting with the EPL. Forward Gabriel joined Arsenal in July 2019. He has represented Brazil at the U23 level.

The Daily Drool – Europa League Group F – Arsenal: Emile Smith Rowe

Attacking midfielder Emilie came up through the Arsenal youth system and he made his competitive first team debut in 2018. He has represented England at the U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels.

The Daily Drool: Takuma Asano

Forward Takuma joined Arsenal in 2016. He has represented Japan at the U23 and senior levels.

The Daily Drool: Rob Holding

Center back Rob joined Arsenal in 2016. He has represented England at the U21 levels.

20 year old defender Konstantinos joined Arsenal in 2018. He has represented Greece at the U21 level.

One of the fun things to do every year is see what outrageous fashion appears at The Best awards. I mean, Dani Alves is always worth a look – remember when he went apeshit with a bedazzler? And Messi never disappoints in his sartorial faux pas. Ah, but our Sese in a class by himself as is his missus. The happy couple hit the plane attired in their signature idiosyncractic style. Special shoutout to Pilar’s tangerine studded leather jacket because that is truly something and Sergio is just bein’ Sergio. Note the Frankenshirt. I swear to fuck, this man cannot purchase something that hasn’t been pieced together from seven different other garments. I bet his fave Dolly Parton song is “Coat of Many Colors” Anyhow, at first glance, it’s Frankenlicious, but tame for Sergio. But you really need to see the full thing…

The Week So Far…

I make a whole big statement about starting to post again and then promptly get felled by an epic bronchial infection that has had me flat on my ass all week. Typical.  Anyhow, I’m slowly starting to come out of it now so I’m going to try again! There’s the bulk of a week to catch up on so I’ll do a drive by.

The Daily Drool: Mattéo Guendouzi

19 year old midfielder Mattéo just signed to Arsenal from Lorient. He has represented France at the U18, U19, and U20 levels. Heads up David Luiz! You have some competition on the hair front now.

The Daily Drool: Steven Nzonzi

Super tall (6’6″!!) defensive midfielder Steven currently plays for Sevilla (but at this writing is rumored to be joining Arsenal after the World Cup). He has represented France at the U21 and senior level.

Wenger Out (For Real)

It’s the end of an era. Arsene Wenger announced today that he will be stepping down at the end of the season after 22 years as manager of Arsenal (and a full year before his contract was to expire). So what do we think a post-Wenger Arsenal will look like? And who do you think will be his replacement?
