I noticed a bunch of pictures of ‘ballers’ bebés in costumes today. At first I was like “Is it some sort of international ‘Bebés in Costumes Day’ that I know nothing about?” But then I realized, it’s Carnival! First up is the ever delightful Raul Arbeloa as Luke Skywalker (or as he pronounces it “Lud Ezawater” according to his mami, Carlota).

I’m so behind on everything because of the holidays! Watishista hopechaser just let me know that the latest Albiol Roig woobins arrived (presumably) on New Year’s Eve! Miss Mia joins big sisters Azahara & Alma and big brother Romeo. Congratulations to Alicia & Raul on their new and undoubtedly beautiful baby girl.

It’s been quite a weekend! We handily won our match and now sit atop the table. Huzzah!  And Gareth rejoined the group today, which is great news. The 6 outfield players who didn’t start worked out with Gareth while Marcelo & Cris trained on their own. We have a Champions League match against Liverpool on Tuesday.

It’s Mother’s Day in Spain and Martin Casillas Carbonero has made a finally made full face appearance to say hi to his mami. The photo was captioned “Hi Mommy! Congratulations! Thanks for being the most wonderful mother in the world and giving me life! I love you so much! Signed: Martin # felizdiadelamadre” I love how goofy and sappy Iker is. It’s very sweet. Martin very much favors his mother, don’t you think? (Sara as a baby: 1  2  3) Some of our other faves sent out greetings to the mamis as well.

Well, I had a whole night of work planned and technical issues are keeping from doing what I need to do. Won’t be fixed till tomorrow morning so I guess that is the universe’s way of telling me to do some blog updating and get some sleep.

Mazel Tov: Welcome Baby Boy Albiol

Well, he’s here! Mami Alicia posted a picture this morning. However, no name, birth date or vital stats as of yet. Guess papi’s transfer has overshadowed everything as far as the media is concerned. I’m so happy for Raul, Alicia, Azahara, Alma and the new baby. They sure do have a lot going on right now – A newborn, moving to another country… it’s going to be a bit hectic for awhile.

Welcome little one! I look forward to finding out more about you.
