UEFA Euro 2016: The Squads

There’s a lot of football to cover this summer (as I said in the Copa America post). I’m hoping to provide daily updates of Euro 2016 action (as well as the other tournaments) in their own posts.

The Daily Drool: Mehdi Carcela-González

Belgian-born Moroccan midfielder Mehdi currently plays for Benfica. He has represented Belgium at the U16, U17, U18, and senior levels (playing 2 friendlies) before changing his allegiance to the Morocco National Team.

The Daily Drool: Jason Denayer

20 year old center back Jason currently plays for Galatasary on loan from Manchester City. He has represented Belgium at the U19, U21 and senior levels.

The Daily Drool: Christian Benteke

Zaire-born striker Christian currently plays for Liverpool. He has represented Belgium at the U17, U18, U19, U21 and senior levels.

Tuesday’s Clasico Prep & International Update

The team continued their prep for this weekend’s Clasico. Argh. I never take El Clasico casually. My stomach is already in knots.

The Daily Drool: Zakaria Bakkali

19 year old winger Zakaria plays for PSV Eindhoven. He has represented Belgium at the U15, U16, U17, U21 and senior levels. He also holds the distinction of being the youngest person ever to score a hat trick in the Eredivisie (17 years and 196 days).

 

The Daily Drool: Thomas Meunier

Right back Thomas currently plays for Club Brugge. He has represented Belgium at the U15, U21 and senior level.

Time For Malaga

The team had their final training before tomorrow’s match vs. Malaga.

The team had a closed training yesterday but today we got a glimpse of their activities. (Training video) Castilla’s Álvaro Medrán joined in again. Sami & Pepe worked out indoors. Lukita worked on his recovery. Illarra returned to the group and Jese was with the gang as well.

Left back Sébastien signed last month with West Bromwich Albion from Hannover 96. He has represented Belgium at the U16, U17, U19, U21, Olympic and senior levels.
