Best Of The Best

9 Jan

_he10130Well, I got home from work at 10 PM so that tells you what kind of day I just had. But you know who had a good day? These guys! (And a few more not in the picture). It was FIFA’s Best awards in Zurich. Continue reading

CONCACAF Rio 2016 Bound!

28 Feb

The 2016 CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship wrapped up on February 21 with more whimper than bang. Unless you were on the USA team then you may have a few bruises which would suggest otherwise. Nevertheless, as expected the final featured USA vs Canada and while the former team showed up to play, the latter, well, were tactically wanting. And that’s all I’ll say on this particular topic. Continue reading

UPDATED: Ballon D’os & Ballon D’ont’s

11 Jan

I gotta say absolutely everything today, including the Ballon D’Or, paled in comparison to the loss of David Bowie, an icon and a true pioneer who affected my life on every level.  Continue reading

15 Dec

a192f48d9e21e02a87a530fce22c7fb3Every Epic Bromance Month we feature a whole week of a particularly active bromancer. Since we decided to have some “fromances” this time around, who better to start with than the US Women’s National Team? They are ridiculous together. Heck, each of them could probably have their own week but this close crew definitely deserves the celebration after their World Cup win. First up, Clutch Carli and Hope. Continue reading

2015 WWC: Goal of the Tournament

9 Jul

Time to vote for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 goal of the tournament. FIFA has compiled a list of 12 candidates from which to choose your favorite. Since my two favorites didn’t make this list, my vote went to Ange N’Guessan for her power floater vs Norway. Which goal is your pick? You have until Monday July 13 10:00am (CET) to submit your selection.

2015 WWC: Three Stars for the Red White and Blue: United States 5 – 2 Japan

7 Jul

megan-rapinoe-ftr-070515_b10e7dahqqfv13p6wmlnxdj0xI’m going to apologize from the get-go but this post is going to be a serious lovefest. I’m beyond thrilled that the World Cup trophy has come back to the States after a sixteen-year drought. And what a final! After a disheartening conversation with some guys about how women’s soccer was boring, Carli Lloyd’s fifteen-minute response was music to my ears. If this is boring, I’ll take it! Continue reading

2015 WWC: It’s Award Time!

3 Jul

2660467_full-lndFIFA recently announced the shortlists for the three (3) major Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 award categories. These lists were created the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG). Why am I telling you this? It was the TSG which determined Messi was the best player and Neurer the best goalkeeper at last year’s World Cup. Uh huh. Still rolling my eyes hard about those selections. Continue reading

635712173895518421-Untitled-1I’m very tempted to write this ALL IN CAPS for Silvia Neid but the crowd in Montreal beat me to it. Roof or no roof, this crowd was LOUD. Continue reading
