Winger Karen (that’s Karen Carney, MBE to you!) has represented England at the senior level since 2005 and Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics. She currently plays for Chelsea.

The Daily Drool – WWC 2019 Group A – Norway: Maren Mjelde

Defensive midfielder and Norway captain Maren has been representing her country at the senior level since 2007. She currently plays for Chelsea.  Fun fact: Her brother Erik plays for Sandefjord.

The Daily Drool 2015 WWC: England’s Eniola Aluko

Forward Eniola is a fierce competitor for Chelsea Ladies. She’s also a lawyer and has been writing a regular column during WWC for BBC Sport. Man, I wish I had her energy and focus! Eniola has represented England at the senior level since 2004 and was on Team Great Britain for the 2012 Olympics. Her brother Sone is also a pro footballer, playing for Hull City and the Nigerian national team.

Striker Yuki moved to Wolfsburg from Chelsea Ladies in 2015. She has represented Japan at the senior level since 2004.

Aluko First Female Pundit on MOTD

The BBC’s famous Match of the Day brand welcomed its first ever female pundit on Sunday, Chelsea Ladies forward Eniola Aluko. She participated on a lunchtime panel for the MOTD2 Extra webcast, and discussed Rooney’s red card, Costa’s performances, and other important football topics.

I didn’t get a chance to tune in but I’ve heard Aluko on Chelsea TV before, and I say she was a great choice for the show. Intelligent, articulate, opinionated. Great job Eni! Hope this leads to more appearances and (hopefully) a spot on the MOTD television show.

The Daily Drool – Drool Amnesty: John Terry

I can already hear the blood curdling screams as another controversial figure appears (fair enough, I’m with you) but folks, that’s the whole point of Drool Amnesty! Here’s watishista Laurean’s rationale: “Ugh my guilty pleasure is probably John Terry. I can’t help but find him hot! But I still want to smack him lol. His bromance with Lampsey is my fave in the premier league.”  I gotta admit that particular bromance begat my all time favorite Futbol Text From Last Night.

Watishista Jenny found us something redeemable about John (not that it excuses all the bad behavior, mind): “I would not screw him, but he pays, out of his own salary, for Chelsea’s women’s team because the board was going to disband them as a cost-saving measure. I like that about him. ”  From the looks of this article, he doesn’t foot the entire bill, but he’s a big help and also acts as their president.
