We have always kept up with Marcelo’s in laws Caio & Yasmin here – they are just lovely! So it’s wonderful to report that they welcomed their second daughter Gaia on January 17th. Big sister Cloe, Tio Marcelo and Tia Clarice (who are Gaia’s godparents) were all on hand to greet the little woobins. Prepare for cuteness!

New Year & Holiday Fun

Hope everyone had a lovely New Year’s Eve and have been enjoying the day today. As promised, a bumper crop of what various ‘ballers have been doing on their holidays. There have been engagements, baby announcements, singing in the mirror while dressed in a towel (Cristiano), blue gradient shoes (Sergio), celebrating on a camel (Mateo & Lukita) and a rather ungracious joke about a rival (Toni Kroos, being a bit rude, IMHO).  Let’s dig in! (It’s long so be prepared!)

Catching Up Pre-Derby

Well. much like most of our internationals, I’m baaaaack! I survived my work conference with little to no health issues. I really wish I could say the same for our team!

Boy is it hard to talk about training and the last game of the season after what happened earlier but here it is anyways – a quick rundown.

The team had their final training session today before heading off to Valencia. All 23 players and Marcos Llorente of Castilla were involved.

Catching Up, A Few Thoughts And Family News

The team had a moment of silence before training today in tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Marcelo & Clarice Are Expecting!

Clarice, Yasmin, Caio, Enzo, Clarice & Caio’s mami, Cloe

Oh happy day! Best. News. Ever. After gifting us with the world’s happiest kid, Marcelo and Clarice are about to do it again.  Enzo will have a sibling and we’ll all die from the adorable, no doubt. Fingers crossed for a girl. I can see big brother Enzo absolutely adoring a little sister and doting on her along with tiny cousin Cloe. I AM SO DELIGHTED! And this news coming to light on the day of the match vs. Juve seems like a good omen.

So many babies on the horizon. Marta & Nacho are due any day, Toni & Jessica are preggers and obviously, Sergio & Pilar.
