Center midfielder Matías has some familiar affiliations. First off, his nickname is “El Pony” (and lord knows, we love a pony). And he plays for Barcelona. Not that Barcelona, but Barcelona Sporting Club of the Ecuadorian Serie A. He is considered one of the best midfielders in South America and has represented Ecuador at the senior level.
