While I am still working on a post with all the outfits, etc. from the Sergio/Pilar wedding, they released a video and it’s even more over the top than I had envisioned. The newlyweds rode in a giant dragon in the sky while Europe played “The Final Countdown.” Pepe Reina tore his shirt. Santi Cazorla drank apparently his body weight in rum, did time in the bumper cars and totally spilled the tea. Fucking brilliant.  Leave it to Sergio & Pilar to exceed expectations.  They left yesterday for their honeymoon in Costa Rica.

Ah, Sergio! You always make my day when you share your fashion snaps. This one is Country Gentleman crossed with a pair of Roma’s training pants that he had tailored, the embellished boots and let’s not forget the “Roaring Tiger, Not-So-Hidden Flowers” backpack. It’s a beautiful thing, this look.

What is that outfit even? He looks like he’s crash landed in some sort of version of Baller Bad Fashion Heaven (which apparently is located in Versailles).  From the waist down, it  is straight up extraneous zippers ahoy! Apparently there is a DSquared store in heaven…  And from the neckline up, it’s so damn 70s that I almost can’t cope.  He seems to be channeling a very nervous undercover Rhoda Morgenstern  being a wallflower at the high school dance if,  you know, Rhoda had a beard and some bitchin’ shades. Wow. Somewhere The Ramos and Guti are shook.

Our often ass saving, mystifying, fascinating, “stylish” capi turns 31 today. Hard to believe. It feels like he has been around forever but he’s still so young. He recently said that he is “in the middle of his career” and I’m pretty damn okay with that. And he’s inspiring a new generation of players in many ways (hopefully not fashion-wise. Think of the children!) but few as adorable as this. Feliz cumpleaños, Sergio! We love you and your big old noggin. Never change.
