The 31-year-old joins us following a five-year stint with high-flying Vfl Wolfsburg where she won three consecutive Bundesliga titles and five consecutive DFB Pokal trophies. Prior to Wolfsburg, Babett played for FFC Frankfurt (winning one DFB Pokal trophy) and FFC Turbine Potsdam (winning five Bundesliga titles, one UWCL title, and one DFB Pokal trophy) respectively. It’s Official: Welcome Kaci!

30 Jul

Our third official signing for CD Tacon / Real Madrid is French midfielder/defender Kaci Aurelie! She’s making the big trip across Madrid, having won back-to-back Liga Feminina Iberdrola Championship titles with Atlético Madrid the past two seasons.

Prior to her Atletico days, 29-year-old Kaci spent a combined eight seasons with Olympique Lyon tallying up eight Division 1 Féminine championships, four Coupe de France Féminine trophies, and four UEFA Women’s Champions League medals. Whew – that’s quite a haul. Here’s hoping she can do the same for us!

It’s Official: Welcome Thaisa!

26 Jul

Our second official signing for CD Tacon / Real Madrid is none other than 30-year old Brazilian midfielder Thaisa! She scored her first World Cup goal in France, bagging the equalizer for Brazil v France during the Round of 16.

Thaisa seems to like new teams at big clubs, having played for AC Milan last year in their inaugural Serie A season. Prior to this, she played a season for Sky Blue FC in the NWSL, Grindavík in Iceland, and multiple Brazil-based clubs. Looking forward to seeing her on the pitch when the season kicks off in August!

It’s Official: Welcome Kosovare Asllani!

21 Jul

Real Madrid/Cd Tacon made their first professional signing on July 18 and what a stellar signing it is! Asllani didn’t just have a great World Cup this past summer she had an AMAZING one. Obviously the powers that be were watching and consider her to be the perfect centrepiece around which we can start building a team to challenge Atletico and Barcelona in the Primera División. The exodus has begun. The official announcement came down today and Marcos Llorente has moved across town to Atleti on a 5 year deal (he doesn’t look all that happy about it in the picture, does he?) Best of luck to you, kid! Just not against us.

I Think We All Knew This Was Coming

30 Oct

I’m not going to say anything about El Clusterfuck because mygypsyspirit will be sharing her assessment. However, as far that performance, I think we all knew that Julen Lopetegui would be heading for the unemployment line this week. I’m not sure that instability is what the team needs right now, but I don’t write the paychecks so… Anyhow, here’s the official announcement. ESPN had an interesting take on the situation. Santiago Solari took over as interim manager today. Do you think the sacking is fair? Do you think Solari will be the permanent replacement? If not, who will come in? (Conte appears to have removed himself from the running). And will our team ever stop feeding the Drama Llama?
