La Roja take on the Ecuadorians

La Roja got the job done in Ecuador, they sealed their win with two goals, the opener from Negredo & the finisher from Cazorla. It was nice to see everyone enjoy some minutes and the three young’ns get their debuts.

It’s Official: Xavi Really Got Married

Well will you look at that? Xavi’s 2012 Summer of Love stuck! It’s just been a year (almost to the day) that we first set eyes on his lady (at the bottom of this post) and watched while their relationship progressed. Today Xavi and the lovely Núria Cunillera wed at the Marimurtra Botanical Gardens in Blanes, Spain.

Confederations Cup Final: Brazil vs Spain

Nando’s face says it all, doesn’t it? *Sigh* This game, this game, this game. There’s really not a whole lot to talk about since it was so obvious that Spain was outplayed. As a La Roja fan, it’s disappointing, but Brazil deserved the win completely. I do think that this loss will only help La Roja though. It brings them down a notch and now they have to really look at the way they play, get to reset & regroup as they continue to work towards being successful in qualifying for the 2014 WC and adding another star to their jerseys. Better they have their Brazilian wake up call now, rather than later, that’s for sure.

Confederations Cup: Spain vs Italy

This is one of two last Confed Cup game recaps…..let’s categorize it as the only one where you’ll see Spain smiling, shall we? I have a love/hate relationship with penalty shootouts, maybe everyone does. It’s a little exciting when teams you don’t support have to go through them, but when it’s your team….nuh uh. Eyes get squeezed shut, hands to my face (fingernail-less hands I should add), and lots and lots of holding my breath whilst praying. But I’m getting ahead of myself, there was a whole 120 minutes of disappointment before that, it definitely wasn’t the Euro final redo I was expecting. Italy had all the attacking power, but lacked the luck to get any goals in and Spain had Iker & Italy’s inability to score going for them. In the end, it was the little bird that had us saying “Thank you, Jesus!”

The boys look like they’re ready to go, go, git ’em, git ’em, in their semifinal tomorrow! I wanna know who’s going to start, who’s going to score, and who’s going to win. You won’t find any answers to those questions within this post, but you will see lots of Sergio’s sweaty thighs & a couple boys struggling to recover from the sight…

Confederations Cup: Nigeria vs Spain

I tell ya, with all the Sernando action this match brought, I almost wouldn’t have minded if La Roja didn’t make it to the Semifinals. They did make it though, beating Nigeria 3-0. I was actually surprised Spain didn’t concede a goal or two, not only because it was Valdes it goal (I keed, I keed) but because Nigeria was showing some major spunk. They broke through Spain’s defense quite a few times and their shots were just off, not enough finish to make it happen. La Roja just keep chugging along, moving through the tournament, having no problem finishing off their goals. Yay for Nando, his scoring continues! His goal and Jordi Alba’s brace were enough to send Spain through to the Semifinals, where they’ll face Italy. The Italian NT say it won’t be a repeat of the Euro final…..I’m excited to see how the match turns out and we don’t have to much longer to wait, just 24 hours or so. 😉

UPDATED: They train, they chat, they bromance

Sometimes they multitask! Trainin’ and bromancin’ at the same time, we lurve it! There was a lack of Sernandoliciousness at the start of this tournament, but now the bromance is flowin’. Maybe Nando just needed to score in order to make all things right with his boo….I’m sure the goals helped too. 😉

La Roja Leftovers and Today’s Happenings

Yeahhhhhh, that’s Sergio’s Hurt So Good face and it’s a pretty good thing you can’t see my face as I ogle his stretch sesh! 😛 La Roja trained while it poured on them, yesterday evening. I bet they were missing that training bubble from Miami. I wasn’t, because you know, what’s hotter than wet men? Wet, SPANISH men, that’s what!

Now here’s a guy who could make a workout vid that wouldn’t make me laugh! (Still love you Benz xo) The players keep talking about the heat at practice and in the locker room, during their pressers, I’m surprised more of the boys didn’t get nekkid. Where’s the Magic Mike Nando segment of the training session?? What ever happened to shirts vs skins? I tell ya, HB&HB needs to manage our own team, we’d make sure y’all would see allllll you’ve ever wanted to see! 😉
