UPDATED: It’s (Almost) Official: Valdano Leaving Real Madrid

Rumors have been swirling for weeks, but Spanish media sources are reporting that Valdano will be leaving his post as General Manager on June 30. Apparently, RM will announce this officially soon. We’ll keep you up to date as we hear more.

Update: Comments are flying all over Twitter including from Sid Lowe (who referred to Valdano as “the most expensive piece of window dressing in history”). Most interesting: “Valdano has refused to resign. Perez is ready to sack and pay huge compensation.”

Ouch And Hooray!

That picture kinda says it all, doesn’t it? Ronaldo triumphs and Almeria is deader than a doornail. The “ouch” is for both me and Almeria. I threw out my back this morning and I’m in quite a bit of pain (as I imagine the relegated Almeria is tonight. My condolences). I’m just trying to stay resting quietly until I go to my acupuncturist tomorrow morning.  I hobbled on down to the pub to watch our boys play the last match of the season and Crissy break the La Liga scoring record. I wasn’t disappointed!
