Ready or not, here we go! It’s time for Napoli!

Prep Begins For Napoli & Talking To Our Milestone Men

The team got back into action and began prepping for Napoli on Wednesday. 

New Year & Holiday Fun

Hope everyone had a lovely New Year’s Eve and have been enjoying the day today. As promised, a bumper crop of what various ‘ballers have been doing on their holidays. There have been engagements, baby announcements, singing in the mirror while dressed in a towel (Cristiano), blue gradient shoes (Sergio), celebrating on a camel (Mateo & Lukita) and a rather ungracious joke about a rival (Toni Kroos, being a bit rude, IMHO).  Let’s dig in! (It’s long so be prepared!)

La Undecima wasn’t the only good thing that happened on Saturday – Nacho & Maria’s new baby arrived! They’ve only called him (I think it’s a him!) Mini Nacho so I’m guessing that they named him after his daddy – that would make him José Ignacio Fernández Cortes. Big sister Alejandra will now have a playmate. Congrats to the happy family.

But then there were two more surprises. First off, guess who got married?

Three out of four members of the legendary Booty CAAll (Albiol, Arbeloa, Pipita, Calleti) posed for a shot on the Napoli Instagram. I miss these guys! But I know that they are well loved and that Napoli fan extraordinaire Maria Rosario is taking very good care of them, which is comforting.

The team had a recovery session today. The starters stayed indoors with the exception of Toni came out for a bit of a run.

I noticed a bunch of pictures of ‘ballers’ bebés in costumes today. At first I was like “Is it some sort of international ‘Bebés in Costumes Day’ that I know nothing about?” But then I realized, it’s Carnival! First up is the ever delightful Raul Arbeloa as Luke Skywalker (or as he pronounces it “Lud Ezawater” according to his mami, Carlota).
