14 Jun

1000790_10151413318472035_1507059567_nAt long last the ICC West Coast Semi-finals tickets will be going on sale. Took ’em long enough, didn’t it? I’ve had my East Coast semis tickets for ages. Pre-sale starts June 17 at 10:00am until June 19 at 10:00am in PDT. Pre-sale code is FRIEND.  The public sale will start on June 19. (Via MGEF)

For those who are going, in addition to giving our RM boys some love, please give kisses to Gigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo & Claudio Marchisio for me (and smoochies to Martin Caceres for Maisougio). I’m truly bummed that RM & Juve aren’t playing near me this year. WAH!

Memorial Day Bits & Bobs

27 May

943153_461596330598741_1161387953_nHope everyone in the US enjoyed their Memorial Day! I know I did. It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a fantastic view of the NY harbor from watishista DK’s roof deck. I’m sleepy from the heat and ready to get some sleep but first a few things…

First and most importantly, Robbie Rogers was subbed in for the last 13 minutes of the LA Galaxy’s 4-0 win over Seattle Sounders. In that moment, he became the first openly gay male to play in a major American professional sport. He was greeted with a standing ovation. I am so incredibly pleased for him. There’s a fan support page for him on Facebook if you want to go and send a little note of encouragement. Continue reading

Los Angeles brings out Los Goles in Los Blancos

4 Aug

I can’t believe I missed this match! A late dinner with my besties ran over into this fine goal-fest of a pre-season meet up with the LA Galaxy, grrrr luckily the food and company was worth it. Needless to say, I’m very happy the boys did well, they always do well in LA…it must be all the sunshine, palm trees, friendly peeps that get them going (hometown shout out 90041!) or I guess it could be, you know, their talented selves that effect their game. Ah well let’s get to the piccies, they’re purty! Cris thighs, Becks, & shirtlessness, oh my! Continue reading

Real Madrid Vs. LA Galaxy Line Up

2 Aug

The game kicks off in about 30 minutes. Not sure if I can stay awake that long. We had a major work technology blow up which caused me to be there late and have a mental breakdown of epic proportions. 2 glasses of wine, some Greek food and a piece of cheesecake later, I’m just getting the ability to speak back. Kinda.

So here’s the planned line ups from the Real Madrid website:

Real Madrid’s starting XI in first half: Casillas, Nacho, Albiol, Varane, Coentrão, Xabi Alonso, Lass, Kaká, Di María, Callejón, Higuaín.

Real Madrid’s starting XI in second half: Adán, Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Sahin, Granero, Khedira, Özil, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Morata.

LA Galaxy’s starting XI: L.A Galaxy: Saunders; Lopes González Franklin DeLaGarza; Gaul Héctor Juninho; Robbie Keane Beckham; McAgee
