We have always kept up with Marcelo’s in laws Caio & Yasmin here – they are just lovely! So it’s wonderful to report that they welcomed their second daughter Gaia on January 17th. Big sister Cloe, Tio Marcelo and Tia Clarice (who are Gaia’s godparents) were all on hand to greet the little woobins. Prepare for cuteness!

…”partial tear of the adductor muscle tendon in your right leg.” Okay that SUCKS. Animo Mateo! Bring your lovely self back to us soon.  Let’s hope there are no more injuries to our boys.

But some good stuff happened as well. We started off our Champions League crown defense with a 3-0 win over APOEL. And then there was the matter of some contract extensions that make me, for one, very happy.

Two Days Till El Derbi Madrileño!

I can’t believe it’s only 2 days until we face Atleti. The team began their preparation after yesterday’s victory vs. Leganés.

New Year & Holiday Fun

Hope everyone had a lovely New Year’s Eve and have been enjoying the day today. As promised, a bumper crop of what various ‘ballers have been doing on their holidays. There have been engagements, baby announcements, singing in the mirror while dressed in a towel (Cristiano), blue gradient shoes (Sergio), celebrating on a camel (Mateo & Lukita) and a rather ungracious joke about a rival (Toni Kroos, being a bit rude, IMHO).  Let’s dig in! (It’s long so be prepared!)

Catching Up Pre-Derby

Well. much like most of our internationals, I’m baaaaack! I survived my work conference with little to no health issues. I really wish I could say the same for our team!

Back To Madrid, Accolades & Families

The team returned to Madrid after Wednesday’s win over Bayern Munich arriving home on Thursday. The game was fun but exhausted (the trip back seemed to take forever). Mygypsyspirit and I spent the following day recovering and hanging out. She left today so I’m getting back to work on things with a very quick catch up.
