The 2016 CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship wrapped up on February 21 with more whimper than bang. Unless you were on the USA team then you may have a few bruises which would suggest otherwise. Nevertheless, as expected the final featured USA vs Canada and while the former team showed up to play, the latter, well, were tactically wanting. And that’s all I’ll say on this particular topic. Women’s World Cup: Group F Contenders

France has the inside edge, given their string of fourth place performances in the past few years. Their resulting third place world ranking isn’t going to mean much though if England, Colombia, and Mexico are able to successfully deploy their goal-scoring talent. If they can, this is about as evenly matched as you can get in a grouping. It’s a coin toss for me as to who will progress. I kinda think anything can happen here given the right circumstances.
