The Daily Drool: Željko Kalac
16 Sep
Well, hello there! Aussie born of Croatian descent, goalie Željko retired at the end of the 2009-2010 season. Here he is modeling for D&G. He started his professional career in 1989 and played in Australia (Sydney United), England (Leicester City), The Netherlands (Roda), Italy (Perugia, Milan) and Greece (Kavala). He started on the Australian U-16 the same year he signed professionally. He eventually moved up to the senior team in 1992 and remained there until 2006. He is currently the goalkeeping coach for A League side Sydney FC. Interesting fact: At 6′ 7 1/2″, he is one of the tallest professional goalkeepers in the world. (Holy crap! How tall is the tallest one?!)
The Daily Drool: Alberto Gilardino
9 SepStriker Alberto plays with Fiorentina in Serie A. He played with the Italian U-21 team from 2000-2004 and joined the senior team after that. He is the all time leading scorer for the Italy U21 side. He was a bronze medalist in the 2004 Olympics and the same year, he helped lead the Italy U21 team to the European championship. He was a member of Italy’s 2006 World Cup winning squad. He also won the Champions League (2006-2007), UEFA Super Cup ( 2007) and FIFA Club World Cup (2007) when he played with Milan.
The Daily Drool: Marco Borriello
11 JunOh hey, it’s about time Borri showed up here, right? He’s been scheduled for awhile, but watishista! Mel gave me a little reminder that it was Borri time. So here he is in all his hot ass glory. Napoli-born yummer Marco is a striker for Roma (on loan from Milan). He has also played 7 times for the senior Italian national team.
