It’s Official: Mou Appointed Chelsea’s New Coach

3 Jun

0,,10268~11984845,00In a move surprising only someone who has been living on a desert island with no contact with the outside world (and even that’s debatable), Mou was officially appointed Chelsea’s coach today. He took Silvino Louro, Rui Faria and Jose Morais with him. Wonder if that means that Karanka will stay?! Continue reading

UPDATED: The Beginning Of The End

31 May

Entrenamiento_Real_Madrid (9) I have The Doors’ ‘The End’ rolling through my brain right now…

“This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end

I’ll never look into your eyes…again

Well, at least that part is pertinent, before it turns into a acid fueled hippie freak out, but you know what I mean.

The end of The Era of Mou is upon us. He helmed his last training session today with his staff. Oh, how I will miss them all. Maybe some will stay? Ever faithful Rui is going with Mou. Rumor is that Karanka wants to go with him, but he is contracted to Real Madrid. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.  Continue reading

The Last Away Match of The Season

29 May

Real Sociedad de Futbol v Real Madrid CF - La Liga

Bum, bum, bum, it’s all about the bum and when that bum scores, it’s even better. Yep, it was Pipa that led the scoring against Sociedad, way to go! In the end, we didn’t get the win, but we did see a lot of goals. The home team equaled us, 3 for 3, with a late winner from Xabi Prieto (damn him!) and we ended our last away match of the season with a draw.

It’s (Almost Kinda) Official: Mou To Sign 4 Year Deal With Chelsea

24 May

jose_mourinho_1773090bBritish papers are going nuts with the news that Mou will be flying to London on June 2nd to sign a 4 year deal with Chelsea. As with everything, it’s not a done deal until the ink is dry, but this seems like a no brainer. The only question is who he will take with him. I have to say, if he’s leaving us and going to Chelsea, I can’t wait to see what kind of magic he can work on Nando. Mou might be just what he needs. If he doesn’t sell him. This is going to be a completely nutso transfer season.

Thanks for all the kind wishes about Maxie. He’s at the vet now waiting to have his surgery (they sent me home because I was fretting so much) and I won’t know more until later.

The Mouberries Will Always Have a Special Place in HB&HB’s Heart

20 May

mou

I thought I was going to be ok when Mou’s departure was made official, but as soon as I started reading the presser tweets, I found myself wishing & hoping the decision would be that he’d stick it out for one more season. My heart actually skipped a beat when I saw the tweet confirming the opposite. I really will miss Mou. Sure, this was a tough season with all the drama, but I like to look at the big picture and appreciate all that he did. Looking back, the good outweighs the bad, heavily. There were a hell of a lot more times that I loved Mou, than the times that I was unhappy with him. We won three trophies with him, learned to be unafraid of Barca, and believed that we could triumph when things were close to impossible. We didn’t always win, but Mou built a team that fought hard….and if they didn’t want to put up a fight, he was willing to put the fear of Mou in them at halftime. Aside from the technical things Mou did for the team, you gotta give it to him for the entertainment he provided as well. I don’t need to tell you guys how fucking hilarious the guy is, but people should remember the fun & laughs he gave us. We could always count on him, his crazy faces and gestures to lift our spirits when the matches weren’t going so well. I’ll miss his presence on the bench and hoping he would keep his legs shut when the cameras panned & zoomed him! To me, no one is going to be able to fill the space that he’s leaving in the club,I just hope I come to love the new coach, half as much as I loved Mou. So here is a Moupreciation post, full of some of what I think were Mou’s best moments with us. Feel free to share some of your own.

It’s Official: Mou Is Leaving

mourinhoThey’re mid-presser now. It’s nothing unexpected, but I’m still bummed. Obviously people have strong feelings on Mou but be civil and respectful in the comments.

Entrenamiento

We’ve got less than 24 hours to go until the FINAL kicks off! Training done? Check. Interviews & pressers done? Check. Tucked in at the hotel? Check. Freaking out? Check. Hopefully that last one is happening only on our parts, we need cool, calm, & collected boys who are ready to kick some ass tomorrow. I want to see big goals, a big win, and a big celebration! Make it happen boys, we need that trophy!

MalagEspanyolisticexpialidocious

Real_Madrid_-_Mýlaga-38

Remember game recaps? Those things I used to be so on top of? Yeah….so sorry about that. After our exit from the CL, writing time kind of flew out the window, which resulted in a bunch of semi-started game recaps, just sitting & collecting on my computer. I just finished breaking my back over an eight foot painting, so here I am able to bring you MalagEspanyolisticexpialidocious (even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious!), two recaps in one! Hopefully y’all don’t mind some old news & a little been there, seen that.
