I honestly thought nothing could top 2017 for sheer fuckery. To that, 2018 said “Hold my beer.” Real Madrid-wise, there were highs (Decimotercera for one thing) and lows (the departures of Zizou and Cristiano, our current confusing form, etc.) but through all of it, we persevere.

However, as far that performance, I think we all knew that Julen Lopetegui would be heading for the unemployment line this week. I’m not sure that instability is what the team needs right now, but I don’t write the paychecks so… Anyhow, here’s the official announcement. ESPN had an interesting take on the situation. Santiago Solari took over as interim manager today. Do you think the sacking is fair? Do you think Solari will be the permanent replacement? If not, who will come in? (Conte appears to have removed himself from the running). And will our team ever stop feeding the Drama Llama?

One of the fun things to do every year is see what outrageous fashion appears at The Best awards. I mean, Dani Alves is always worth a look – remember when he went apeshit with a bedazzler? And Messi never disappoints in his sartorial faux pas. Ah, but our Sese in a class by himself as is his missus. The happy couple hit the plane attired in their signature idiosyncractic style. Special shoutout to Pilar’s tangerine studded leather jacket because that is truly something and Sergio is just bein’ Sergio. Note the Frankenshirt. I swear to fuck, this man cannot purchase something that hasn’t been pieced together from seven different other garments. I bet his fave Dolly Parton song is “Coat of Many Colors” Anyhow, at first glance, it’s Frankenlicious, but tame for Sergio. But you really need to see the full thing…

The Week So Far…

I make a whole big statement about starting to post again and then promptly get felled by an epic bronchial infection that has had me flat on my ass all week.
