New Year & Holiday Fun

Hope everyone had a lovely New Year’s Eve and have been enjoying the day today. As promised, a bumper crop of what various ‘ballers have been doing on their holidays. There have been engagements, baby announcements, singing in the mirror while dressed in a towel (Cristiano), blue gradient shoes (Sergio), celebrating on a camel (Mateo & Lukita) and a rather ungracious joke about a rival (Toni Kroos, being a bit rude, IMHO).  Let’s dig in! (It’s long so be prepared!)

Congratulations to wee Juan Mata who was voted Chelsea’s Player of the Year by the fans. Head on over here to see his charming speech and a delightful bitchface moment from Nando. The cameraman was less than subtle in panning over to Nando when they were commenting about how easily Juan adjusted to the team. Oh well.

So one of the boys tweeted this picture of his chest, apparently when bored during concentracion. Who could it be? Hint: he has chest hair (which narrows it down considerably) and it’s artsy.

One of footy’s most adorable couples took a stroll through Madrid and enjoyed some ice cream and smoochies while they were at it.

Calleti Cuts His Hair & Trolls Barca/The Boys Train/ Arbeloa Talks Albiol/ Xabi Shops

Our gorgeous Calleti cut his hair! I noticed this at the match over the weekend but it’s nice to have up close pictures of the action.  There’s an interview on the RM website and as soon as it’s translated, I’ll post it along with more pictures. However, the quote from the interview that’s getting quite a bit of press is worth posting now.

More pictures from the event where Xabi was officially crowned the GQMF we already knew he was. He said it was nice to receive the award because he was a longtime reader of the publication. That’s pretty obvious! More pictures within and Nagore’s dress is backless! What a hot mama she is!
