Satellite (17)The internationals are returning and the training legs are out! As watishista Mandy predicted yesterday, a hot pants showdown can’t be far off. Cristiano threw down the gauntlet today and well, damn, son! Continue reading

nando tweet

To be honest, I don’t normally pay too much attention to Nando’s tweets. They normally have something to do with his fitness center in Madrid. But that tweet from Fernando intrigued me. Continue reading

Nando-ed Up In Blue

7 Apr

Chelsea’s launched their 2014-2015 kit with the “Forever Blue” campaign which means we get to see plenty of players being subjected to all sorts of whimsy. Remember the blue body paint last year? This year, they made blue statues out of the players’ most memorable Chelsea moments. Which means they had to cover them in plaster. FUN! There are two “Behind The Scenes” videos after the jump.

I Found My Thrill On Blueberry Hill

5 Apr

article-2304607-191B282D000005DC-562_964x729 I’m supposed to be at a party even as we speak (I’m late in fact), but they’re all going to have to wait while I update the blog. Too much going on! Thanks to watishistas Cosi & draconic_voices who sent me the link to more pictures from the new Chelsea campaign that were on the Daily Mail website. After the jump, there’s a ton of pictures of boys being splattered with paint and a making of video. As ever, if you want to see the pictures in the gallery in a larger format (and why wouldn’t you?) click on the first piccy and you can scroll right through! Continue reading

Iker saves! World -1  Mayans – 0

Congratulations! We survived the end of the world! And good timing too, as I was finally able to get out of bed and drag myself into work. This is going to be a quick and dirty post because I’m about to head up with old friends of mine from London and Copenhagen who are in town for some pre-holiday cheer.

A Bedtime Yummy

Spotted this shot of Petr Cech looking mighty fine and thought I’d share it. It comes from this article giving his thoughts on Di Matteo’s ouster.

Bits & Bobs: Shaky But Surviving, Goodbye Sin City, Play Ball, A Vulture And Some Duckies

22 Jul

Well, I’m hanging in there. Still pretty shaky but I’m going to attempt to go see Chelsea/PSG. I’m meeting up with forzasusan and PLL. If I make it that far, I’ll see if I can make it to Yankees Stadium. It’s all very touch and go. I feel like a new born foal. Very wobbly on the legs.  Thanks for all the get well wishes!

Mesut has finally left Sin City and it’s scantily clad ladies behind (one hopes they’re not stumbling along in stilettos and garters somewhere behind him) for the more natural and wholesome wonders of the Grand Canyon. I approve of this destination! Continue reading

A Whole Lotta La Roja – Post I: Extra Game Pix

10 Oct

There’s a ton of material to catch up on from the past few days and I’ll spread it out over a number of posts. First up, are some left over shots from the game vs. Czech Republic. The focus is on Nando and Sergio. Yum.

The Daily Drool: Petr Čech

22 Jun

Goalkeeper Petr has been minding the net for Chelsea since 2004. You’re probably used to seeing him in his trademark rugby scrum cap. He wears that after one hell of a head injury. 20 seconds into a match in 2006,  Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt’s knee collided with his head.  He ended up with a depressed skull fracture and nearly died. Carlos Cudcini ended up replacing Čech in the match and was later knocked unconscious himself! Captain John Terry ended up in goal. Now you know why Sergio and Sami have to train as back up goalkeepers. Obviously, this sort of shit can happen. Anyhow, he recovered and that hasn’t stopped him from having a great career. He holds the record for getting to 100 clean sheets in the least amount of matches (180) in the Premier League. He was also recognized (along with Iker) as one of the 5 Best Goalkeepers in the World in 2010 by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics.  He has been a member of the senior Czech Republic National Team since 2002, representing his country 81 times. Interesting fact: he’s a triplet! He was born on May 20, 1982 along with his sister Sarka and his brother Michal (sadly, his brother passed away at age 2).
